FULL BLOWN CUSTOM WITH EVERY CATALOG OPTION PLUS NUMEROUS NON-CATALOG UPGRADES AND OPTIONS! This Gunwerks build is a complete hand built hunter designed specifically by the top tier hunters @ Gunwerks.. if I could have, what would it be? How about a shorter rifle with 22 inch Proof Carbon Wrap barrel shooting a 195 grain Berger VLD Hunting bullet off a Magnus stock.. in 28 Nosler? say what? 300 Win Mag shoots a smaller 190 grain bullet! Gunwerks builds rifles to shoot over 1000 yards and still kill game. I do not shoot over 750 yards so some of the Gunwerks builds sacrifice my needs/wants to attain their needs/wants. Not this Master Hunter! By all accounts this 195 grain bullet in this rifle has the required FPS and energy to kill at 990 yards but again not all are 1000 yard shooters. Berger 195 grain bullets are designed and built specifically as a long range VLD very low drag hunting bullet with insured long and short range lethality. Thinner (than Match) jacket insures the bullet expands and releases the majority if not all of the kinetic energy in the animal. Bob Beck (Extreme Outer Limits) has been testing these bullets on game animals in the field. Bob reports: “We have made 3 kills with the bullets, and they perform extremely well. The animals were llamas, which are normally hard to kill. We took three shots from 10 ft, 500 yards and 1046 yards. All of the bullets expanded and killed immediately. One of the shots was a frontal which flipped the animal over completely!” As an aside there is a Chatroom Ranger whom say’s these bullets suck as he shot a 200lb Axis deer buck at 210 yards; perfect heart/lung shot and the animal “stood there”. Shot him again and the animal ran over a rise and dropped 60 yards away. He was upset because the animal did not “drop to the shot”. Good news, bad news. Upon inspection the bullet DID do it’s job; heart was destroyed. Bad news? Hunt for any period of time and it’s going to happen.. the Axis deer was dead. Had no heart left, nothing pumping. You will find sometimes it just don’t matter. Nobody told the Axis deer it was dead; it was in shock, felt nothing, but took a bit to die. We all want our hunting to be one shot kills that “drop to the shot” but it ain’t going to happen all the time regardless of shot placement OR caliber OR bullet. Back to our regularly scheduled program.. 22 inch Proof barrel is the PERFECT barrel in my opinion as it is shorter, more ergonomically correct, weighs less, and yet again still ethically kills past 900 yards and is just as accurate as a standard Proof 24 inch barrel! Magnus stock is my favorite Gunwerks stock; weighs slightly more than the Clymer but with it’s flat bottom is rock steady off a pack in the field.. or on the bench. In addition the buttstock pad “cants” to fit you perfectly, snug and tight, reduces felt recoil (which is “squatish” as this 28 Nos has the Directional brake). Unit weighs 8.8lbs on a UPS scale which is 1/2 lb heavier than a similarly equipped Clymer w/ 24 inch barrel. Hey this bullet takes all North American game to include Moose and Elk and they say Grizzly.. but in my opinion you are better suited to a Nosler Partition or similar bullet to fill those needs (which are available for this 28 Nosler). Incudes Gunwerks “Long Range Package”; LRP includes lapping of rings, mounting, mounting scope, T&E, shooting for zero, break in, scope tracking verification, data validation out to 1000 yards. Everything is DONE. Pick up, load up, and shoot! Game at 650 yards you simply turn the turret to 6.5; aim, shoot, hit. 490 yards? Put the turret at 4.9. pretty simple kids! As an aside your 200 yard zero from Gunwerks will shoot approx 2 inches to the left. This is to compensate for spindrift so at 1000 yards your rifle will hit dead on instead of 20 inches to the right! You can order one off the Gunwerks website exactly as follows: Magnus Rifle 28 Nosler Right Hand $5850, Titanium Action $450, Proof Carbon Wrap 22 inch barrel $650, Directional Brake $200, Hunting Floorplate, Metal color Titanium, Stock C33 Forest, Nightforce ATACR 5-25×56 F1 MOAR Zstop Digillum 34mm $2999, Ballistic Turret $125, Long Range Package $874, total $11,148. Then you need to order five boxes Gunwerks 195 grain Berger Hybrid ammo $125 per box = $625, custom Atlas Bipod (long stem custom order with quick release) model BT-47-LW17 PSR TALL WITH ADM $339; note this bipod is NOT available thru Gunwerks.. this direct order from BT is a taller unit giving you 6 inches plus extra height which is better suited for your hunting needs.
