Powered by Trijicon’s patented fiber optics and tritium-based technology incorporates a bullet drop compensator (BDC) with additional aiming points estimated for trajectory of the 5.56mm M855 out to 800 meters; battery free and waterproof to 500 feet”. Exceptional fixed power scope so no screwing around; parallax is set, reticle is set, luminosity is adjustable by turning the dial (ie you can turn illumination “off” in bright light). For CQB or close quarter battle mayhaps 6x is a bit strong.. sitting atop the ACOG is a second optic specifically for CQB use; the most expensive RMR the RM06 adjustable intensity battery powered. Put the dot on your CQB target and smackdown time.. both are dustproof, waterproof, fogproof. INSIGHT: These were developed originally for the military as an “ease” optic with fixed power to enable “average” soldier/marine to engage medium range targets out to 800 meters with effect. Trials took Marksman and Sharpshooters in Basic and had them re-qual with this optic; all I say ALL scored Expert using this system. Initially thought of as a fixed location platform (due to size) it was/is so wildly popular it hit the field almost instantly. Actually is shorter than a Nightforce system and weighs the same (ish). Subsequently several versions were fielded for use with the 7.62 and .50 BMG machine guns and are in use today in several theatres. Case of M855 62 grain Green Tip is calibrated with the ACOG BDC. Ships with the streamlight white weapons light which has an effective range of 400 meters; pop on/pop off mount system. SCAR platform is ambidextrous and the charging handle can be swapped from left side to right side in seconds. Ambidextrous magazine release and ambi safety.
