pictures taken in bright sunlight washed out scroll down to the last pics for realistic portrayal of this stunning multi-cam piece de resistance (pièce de ré·sis·tance) // BRAND NEW 2020 MANUFACTURE HILL COUNTRY RIFLES CUSTOM HAND BUILT LONG RANGE HUNTER 3/8″ GROUPS SWAROVSKI X5i ILLUMINATED WITH PERSONALIZED BALLISTIC CAM ALL UPGRADES PLUS AMMO PLUS EXTRAS BRAND NEW MANUFACTURE NEW ARRIVAL READ ON.. if you can afford 12k plus! If you cannot no big deal but we don’t need to hear your bullcrap either; that goes for Dorothy and Alex! But if you have worked hard, have discretionary income, and want the absolute most accurate finest rifle in the world in a relatively soft shooting massive 30 caliber slamming 212 grain ELDX bullets into monster Elk, Moose, Grizzly et al at 800 plus yards while maintaining 4 inch groups (at 800 yards) with a weight under every comparable rifle in it’s class.. read on and let’s rock! “Our Rifleman stock is a right-hand dedicated design with a comb height, palm swell and overall grip shape that is absolutely perfect for prone shooting, but also great from a sitting or standing position.  It does not require an adjustable comb or strap on cheek piece.  It is not bulky like a typical tactical stock.  Long Range Hunter is no heavier than a standard weight sporting rifle; weight ranges from 6.5 to 7.75 pounds while delivering every design detail needed for optimum long range shooting”. Let’s break this down:

1. Rifle shoots FACTORY ammunition and the included test target from Hill Country Rifles shows a .343″ group which is sub 1/2″ using factory ammunition I say again factory ammunition at 100 yards! Built with scope and ballistic turret to accurately take game past 1000 yards. We custom ordered this rifle with the intention of being built as an 800 yard “done deal” which means anyone with a modicum of knowledge and trigger time can ethically take large game to 800 yards; pro? Move to 1200! Repeat this rifle takes FACTORY Hornady Precision Hunter 212 grain ELDX ammunition which is a HUGE deal; you do not have to contact the rifle manufacturer for their proprietary ammo. In addition it shoots ALL 300 PRC ammunition and was built for the VLD ELD etc etc.

2. Scope is the top of the line Swarovski X5i 3-18×50 1/4 MOA L 4W+ (illuminated) series which is the best scope out of the entire Swaro lineup to have fitted with a Custom Ballistic Turret; one other Swaro line will take a personalized cam but note the size and dial “reach” on the BT Ballistic Turret in the pictures. Using the exact ammo as described this scope was professionally set up (by Hill Country Rifles) with the turret; game at 550 yards? Put the turret at “5.5”. 800 yards? Put the turret at “8”. Alex say’s since this cartridge will retain lethality and accuracy past 1200 yards it has to have a 5-25 scope.. let’s keep in mind Alex is a dumbass, but alas, the professional level hunter is keenly aware that your trophy may pop up 25 yards away, 50 yards away- relatively close. At 5x on a scope you simply have such a narrow close distance field of view you may not “find” the animal in your scope but further at 5x and 50 yards on a monster Bull Elk you will NOT be able to pinpoint where on the animal you are (with the crosshairs). In other words all you see is “brown” which precludes you from making a precision kill shot. Keeping your scope at 3x allows the shooter to “find” the location for correct shot placement from 20 yards out; hence the proper scope for our 800 yard shooter is the 3-18. Make no mistake visual acuity at 18x and 1200 yards is considered “standard”. Again the proper perfect scope for our application.

Wanna build and order your own? You would need to put 3k deposit down and wait 8 months; we custom ordered this stunning shooter direct from Hill Country Rifles and our DEALER COST was $7,251 for the rifle, rings, 5 boxes ammunition, and all upgrades as stated in the invoice which is in the pictures. Add dealer profit $650, total $7901. Swarovski X5i 3-18×50 as described $2950 Euro Optics. Ship the scope to HCR and they will order a ballistic turret for you again see invoice. Total with optics + shipping to build one cracks $10,851. What about Long Range Package? Verify scope zero, validate data, scope box test, barrel break in per HCR directions another $400 (which is cheap). Barrel break in alone is an 8 hour ordeal! Total so this platform is ready as a”pick up and shoot” package $11,251. Ships with four boxes of ammunition and a portion of the 5th after zero check PLUS a brand new matching Oakley Multi-Cam pack free of charge! Bipod is NOT included but it is the BT47-LW17 PSR Atlas Bipod: Tall with ADM 170-S Lever (quick release) $340 on their site. Az pays tax visa mc discover AMEX add 3.5%

PRICE DISCLOSURE: Ok kinda chaps my ass but HCR (Hill Country Rifles) advertises an “all inclusive package” on their site for $8702. Read it. Cheapest non illuminated Swaro scope made, one Cerakote color (no multi-cam), no muzzle brake nor other upgrades, no choices, what bottom metal (whom knows), and NO ballistic turret.. so you ain’t gonna shoot 400 plus yards. Our actual dealer cost invoice for the BEST rifle they can make is in the pictures.

RANDOM THOUGHTS: Spectacular rifle. Does not have a Proof Research Carbon Wrap barrel which is the rage these days. We order our Gunwerks with Proof but no others.. ever. This barrel is a premier “Benchmark” (manufacturer) barrel, fluted, is the same weight as a Proof but, sorry, yeah, more accurate- and we are accuracy nuts. We have found Proof Research barrels may not deliver that sub 1/2 inch MOA routinely especially in larger calibers. In addition Proof Research Manufacturing may have gotten a little too big as they now mass produce thousands of barrels; they brag that they now have well over 100 employees and have increased sales well over 1000%. One Thousand percent. Sometimes you loose something chasing numbers.. That said, however, there are 3-4 barrel makers out there that are still handling and manufacturing each barrel on an individual basis and Benchmark is one of those that can be counted on to deliver an as advertised barrel. Small company with a “precision” mindset not a numbers mindset! Rifle with scope mounted and loaded is barely tapping  10lbs which is actually light for a long range hunting platform. The Gunwerks in their lightest Magnus 300 PRC with titanium action and Proof barrel is the same- maybe a hair heavier! Note this rifle has a floorplate magazine which is preferred for a pro level hunting rifle, not a DBM (detachable box magazine) which again Alex say’s is the rage. Detachable magazines are fine for a military or tactical rifle; every GI has a slew of them.. everywhere. Lose one whom cares your buddy has at least ten and you have the same stashed all over your body and in your pack. Load out table has hundreds of em laying around grab as many as you want! But you are going hunting with a DBM and when your finger slides forward and punches the mag out or your trekking thru thick thick vegetation and the mag punches out or since you transport your ammo separately with the mag it gets lost your rifle is now a single shot (which may be better for you actually); so you better buy 4 xtra mags cause you will lose one. More than one. Meanwhile a floorplate allows you to load the integral magazine PLUS put another in the chamber and unload by the press of a button dumping the rounds out the bottom. In addition the bottom of your rifle is “flush” or flat and nothing is sticking out which is frankly a big deal (to me). I nearly always will shoot off my pack; even if I am going out for a few hours I take the full Eberlestock pack in the pictures (filled with pillows and maybe a change of clothes) to shoot off of. The magazine protruding from the bottom may inhibit nay preclude a steady rest in some instances which frankly sucks! So gonna get a DBM get xtra’s kids!
