HILL COUNTRY RIFLES DOCUMENTS IT SHOOTS UNDER 1/3 OF AN INCH GROUPS WITH HORNADY FACTORY AMMUNITION, .443 INCH GROUPS WITH CHOICE AMMUNITION, AND SUB 1″ GROUPS AT 100 YARDS WITH GUNWERKS AMMUNITION (HAD A FLYER).

SWAROVSKI OPTICS: Top of the line, best scope available for this rifle.. Swarovski X8i 2-16×50 Illuminated. Rifle has a ballistic turret out to 1100 yards. Game at 850 yards? Turn the turret to “8.5” and rock. Sheep at 400 yards? Turn the turret to “4”. Set up on Nightforce rings and tuned and zeroed by Hill Country Rifles.

ALEX ALERT #2: Alex say’s you need a 5-25×56 scope for this rifle. Alex thinks he is a hunter too. 1))) The 2x power allows you to shoot with a wide enough FOV at 10 yards to spank a deer from a blind. You cannot find shot placement at 40 yards with a 5x as magnification is too strong. 2))) The 16x power allows any shooter with a modicum of experience to hit 10″ plates at 770 yards no brainer. If you know how to call wind and are a real pro the 16x insures precise shot placement at 1000 yards. Alas I have a self imposed limit of about 700 yards. Calm day no wind perfect conditions. 3))) A 25x scope is horrific to use at 25x simply due to parallax or “mirage”. Typically you need to dial down a 25x scope to get a proper sight picture. 4))) A 5-25x scope is twice as long and weighs twice as much. Almost. Ok disclaimer.. yes there are sumguys shooting .338 Lapua and others at 1100 yards and can actually hit something. Fine. Get a 25x. This rifle is designed to realistically hammer at 900 yards.

AMMUNITION: Gunwerks custom loads, 6.5 PRC, 140 Grain, Berger Elite Hunter. Ten boxes, 200 rounds.

HARD CASE: Absolute top of the line with clasp locks no plastic crap. Custom sized for this rifle = easy to carry and transport. Airline approved. This is an exceptionally sturdy hard case without rollers and is considered a “slimline”. Awesome. HCR ships their rifles in a Plano transport case in a cardboard box. They are “one trippers” and are disposed of upon arrival. This hard case is a “life long” case and stores easily with it’s slimline profile.
