SWAROVSKI $5,000 SCOPE THE ALL NEW dS II GEN II: This is a $5000 dollar USD scope that does “it all”. Ok, $4800 for the scope alone no rings no mount nada. Let me translate before I post all the manufacturers hoopla; this scope is a point and shoot scope past 1000 yards. If you can program your phone via bluetooth into your car you can program this scope easily. Note this scope is already programmed for the included ammunition. The scope automatically adjusts for inclination, distance, temperature, humidity, altitude.. and shows an illuminated dot/reticle for a dead on shot. 559 yards or 999 yards it will automatically adjust the illuminated dot/reticle for you. You can program in numerous different loads easily. Brown Bear with Nosler partition or Elk with AccuBond or white tailed deer with whatever load you choose.
“Swarovski Optik’s dS 5-25×52 P Gen II represents a major advancement in riflescope technology. Equipped with a series of integrated technologies including an onboard laser rangefinder, an illuminated holdover reticle display, a cant indicator, and sensors to measure air pressure, temperature, and bullet flight time. In addition, the dS Configurator app allows the user to create a custom ballistics profile based on their specific firearm and ammunition preference, then connects to the dS 5-25×52 riflescope via Bluetooth connection. The app and riflescope take into account the set magnification, air pressure, temperature, angle and your own ballistics profile to calculate the exact aiming point. This aiming point is then displayed as an illuminated reticle holdover point with six reticles to choose from. This function can also display the maximum range at the highest magnification based on the currently selected ammunition type”.
CALIBER .300 PRC: Latest greatest hunting cartridge for all American Big Game. By comparison and being simplistic the .300 Win Mag typically shoots a 190 grain bullet while the 300 PRC excels with 200-225 grain bullets, has less wind drift, has flatter trajectory, longer range, increased lethality at distance vs the .300 Win Mag. The actual weight of the .300 PRC bullets which are .30 caliber are standard weight bullets for the .338 class of bullets. Ok, simply awesome.
7mm PRC vs .300 PRC: We have some 7 PRC builds underway cause it is a new cartridge and you gotta have it.. which is fine. But if’n you have a choice the 7 PRC is a long action cartridge same as the .300 PRC. No weight savings, same throw. Less lethal bullets if we are being frank as the 7mm utilizes 160-175 grain bullets (same as a .308 Winchester) while the .300 PRC uses 190-220 grain bullets which run the gamut from white tailed deer to the largest of North American Big Game to include Brown Bear, Bison, Moose, Elk. Recoil? This rifle with this stock and this muzzle brake has less recoil than a .300 Win Mag. Shooting 40 rounds in one range session is a no brainer. So for moi I will stick with the 300 PRC!
AMMUNITION: Custom loads from mcWhorter; 208 Grain Berger Hybrid Hunters in pure virgin Lapua brass. This ammo is more than adequate for all your Elk, Moose, Deer and bear needs. Might go to a solid for the mongo Brown Bear regardless. You get 300 rounds of custom ammunition.
WEIGHT: This 1500 yard shooter weighs in at 10.6 lbs using a standard scale. That is light for a rifle with the capabilities of this one. Your rangefinder weighs 1 1/2 lbs with the case; you no longer need to carry it. Now the rifle weighs 9.1 lbs. Lose three pounds ish and now it is under 7 lbs. For those not “in the know” you are hitting Rifles Inc units at 7 1/2 lbs. Rifles Inc are great one shot rifles out to about 250 yards..
COST/BUILD: We custom ordered these rifles from McWhorter with approximately an 8 month build time. We had to put down a 3k deposit and wait and wait. Our dealer cost for the rifle ONLY no scope no rings no nothing is in the pictures.. $6195. Cost for the ammo is also in the pictures $1485. Dealer profit $909 brings the cost of the rifle and ammunition to $8589. Then find a premier Swarovski dS II for $4800, custom rings $202, professional mount with program for the included custom ammunition $307. Grand total to “build” your own would crack $13,898. Then add GB fees.. Az pays tax visa mc discover AMEX add 3.5% with proof of ID only.
