PEDERSOLI 45-70 BOARBUSTER AIMPOINT COMP M5 CASED HAMMER DOWN AMMO ++

$3,945.00

Description

PEDERSOLI BOARBUSTER PEDERSOLI IFG .45-70 GOV’T 86/71 WITH AIMPOINT COMP M5 RED DOT, LARUE QUICK RELEASE, CASED AMMUNITION, SUPPRESSOR READY, PRECISION ARMAMENT COMPENSATOR, MAGPUL SLING, GALATI, ++ ships as a “pick up and shoot” with optics zeroed. Simply pick up, load up, and shoot.. OR unfired your choice!

DAVIDE PEDERSOLI: Pedersoli out of Italy as of today makes the finest lever action rifles in the world; Cimarron takes a back seat which it can share with Winchester and Browning which are made in Japan. Pedersoli is part of the premier IFG group or Italian Firearms Group of which Chiappa and Cimarron do not not not belong. Nothing wrong with Cimarron but they are not of the caliber or quality inherent in a Pedersoli.

PEDERSOLI BOARBUSTER: This lever action is acknowledged as the finest 21st century lever action manufactured. Easy-to-handle and compact, it’s chambered for the  45/70 which, with today’s premium updated bullet and cartridge offerings, enables the hunter to take all North American game from White Tailed Deer to Brown Bear. This obviously includes Moose and Elk. It’s compact size insures it’s place with Alaskan Guides, pig stickers, and any hunter whom hunts forest or thick brush. Make no mistake the cartridge is deadly at 300 yards but this rifle shines as a shooter in the woods or fixed emplacement (deer/game stand) over a clearing or a Black Bear bait pile.

REVIEWS: Are everywhere.. but highlights that stand out for myself include, of course, a fine Walnut stock along with a color case hardened frame and lever. That puts it into the “art” category immediately and earns a slot on the wall in my office. Carbine has the short 19 inch barrel, rapid throw, six round capability. Forward picatinny rail is reminiscent of the obsolete Scout rifle. Don’t tell anyone I said this but the “Scout” rifle was a scam from day one.. don’t care what Cooper said 40 years ago. Anyhoo the forward picatinny rail holds an Aimpoint which we will delve into later. This carbine has a rounded butt which qualifies it as snag free with immediate “shouldering” vs curved or square stocks which snag your coat every time you try to shoulder. The massive recoil pad does it’s job and decreases felt recoil from the massive 45-70 cartridge substantially. Typically not a fan of fiber optics, surprise surprise, these are rated an A+. I am shocked at the precision these sights enable with the forward type rear sight which is also a fiber optic albeit in a green hue with the red front.

SUPPRESSOR READY: Threaded and capped barrel 5/8 x 24 so if’n you want to run a suppressor have at it. We do not. Threaded and capped means (to me) screw on a compensator! Cut recoil even more! I would port and compensate a .22 if I could but I digress. We contacted Precision Armament whom shipped us their Hypertap self timing compensator. You can screw it on and “time” it yourself in a couple minutes but it will ship installed. The object is to enable the shooter to manage recoil or decrease recoil to the level where you can keep your eyes (and barrel) on target and re-engage if necessary without looking all over trying to find another sight picture. To paint a picture.. when you go to the range and anyone when shooting has the barrel go nigh to straight up in the air with their arms likewise after their trigger press (pull) they are all wet. All wrong. On sooo many levels. Ok, I digress, Again.

HYPERTAP MUZZLE BRAKE: Screws on/off at your discretion. Hybrid Baffle Design combined with advanced Convergent-Divergent port geometry yields an unprecedented recoil reduction of up to 64%.  Exceptional safety, less gas blowback, better accuracy, and higher overall shooter comfort than any other device in its class. Fully tunable gas biasing allows the shooter to further reduce, or even eliminate, sight picture movement while firing. An integral universal timing nut eliminates the need for shims and allows quick field installation & removal using an adjustable wrench or the lightweight spanner tools (included). Additional features include: zero flash increase, compact lightweight design, a rugged skeletonized crown, cleaning friendly design, heat-treated stainless steel construction, a tough Ionbond® CrCN finish for superior durability and, as always, 100% Made in the USA.

LEVER ACTION: Fastest way to load another round outside of semi-auto, period. Smooth too. Since Im’a rambling today when you run the lever the carbine stays on target and the carbine stays in your shoulder pocket. Level. With the target. You do not not take the carbine off your shoulder and run the lever than re-mount. This carbine is “tuned” from the factory and is SLICK. It is not a Marlin. You can run this carbine fast. Shockingly fast..

Aimpoint COMP M5: The premier Aimpoint Comp M5 is “slender” and with the Larue quick release low mount you have an awesome red dot set up with a battery life of over 5 years, waterproof, weatherproof, dustproof. The Aimpoint allows for faster acquisition and does a stellar job. It is on a quick release so it pops on/off in seconds, yet retains zero. If you are using the carbine as a guide or in a back up mode keep in mind I already stated the fiber optics are stellar so pop the Aimpoint off. And c’mon shoot with both eyes open will ya?

MAGPUL SLING, ADAPTED: Busted. You know I hate slings but there is a time and place for everything. Hunting in the forest or the “thick” you should carry your rifle but for that “time and place” this sling allows you to run the carbine front or back. Adapted with Allen attachments, screw on, locking.

AMMUNITION #1: Federal Premium 300 Grain Hammer Down for Medium Sized Game. Deer, Antelope, pigs, evil humanoids. With a 200 yard zero you are about 5 inches high at 100 and 24 inches low at 300 yards. Not bad for a massive 45-70. With a 100 yard zero you drop 11 inches at 200 yards which is way more than adequate for a nigh to straight hold in your Elk forest scenario. Five boxes = 100 rounds.

AMMUNITION #2: HSM Bear Load 430 Grain +P ammunition. This will knock a Polar Bear on it’s ass. Done. Massive penetration, not for play, not for self defense. Two boxes HSM Bear Load = 40 rounds.

SOFT CASE/SHOOTING MAT: These ship out in a Galati soft case which unfurls into a shooting mat. Sized properly so you can shoot off the bench or lay the carbine on the bench while you are on the range.

COST/BUILD: This carbine is model # 010S74747G which is a limited run in premier Walnut. Pedersoli is running some Boarbusters in Cerakote and others in orange camo. MSRP is $2100 shipped, carbine only. Gunbroker has em for $1850 so we will use that. Aimpoint Comp M5 no mount $828 on their site. Larue Quick Release mount installed $200. Magpul Sling, adapted, $111. Hypertap Muzzlebrake installed 4237. HSM +P Bear Load is $60 per box = $120. Federal Premium is $50 per box = $250. Total 140 rounds premium ammo. Galati soft case/shooting mat $149. Grand total to “build” your own would run $3745. Then add GB fees.. Az pays tax visa mc discover AMEX add 3.5%

INVESTMENT ADVICE: Just a thought.. stick this in a rack for 5 years and you lose no value. It can only appreciate (as new). At least it will keep up with inflation (in my opinion). Unlike an AR or semi auto revolver the lever action, walnut, case colored, is timeless. In addition a lever action to my knowledge is not illegal in any state in the union..
