Description

SMITH & WESSON TITANIUM .44 MAGNUM 329 PERSONAL DEFENSE REVOLVER WITH 4 BOXES AMMUNITION, MAGNAPORT CUSTOM, PELICAN HARD CASE.. THE LIGHTEST .44 MAGNUM IN THE WORLD FROM S&W SUCKS AND IS ALMOST WORTHLESS.. UNTIL ROCKEGROUP “FIXES EM”! Read on Alex!

REVOLVER: Titanium mid to full size revolver is so light it is truly unbelievable to pick up and hold; your jaw will drop! S&W markets as the “PD” or “Personal Defense” pistol (I surely hope they are not implying a .44 Magnum for home defense against humanoids) and in the back country that extreme lightweight is a tremendous asset. Cannot be beat in a Kenai center chest holster.. just don’t forget it is there (it is that light)!

FACTORY PROBLEM / ROCKEGROUP FIXES: S&W started out with an awesome pistol but never finished the job. Marketed as a “Personal Defense” pistol to use in the back country means full power full boat current manufacture .44 Magnum loads such as HSM and Buffalo Bore which literally have proven to take down 1500 lb animals. The lighter the pistol the more recoil, less stability, less accuracy (on the part of the shooter). A .44 Mag is a monster in a full sized steel pistol; the heavier the pistol the less recoil transmitted to the shooter. In addition the heavier the pistol the more accurate the shooter tends to be as weight “steady’s” the pistol; bullseye match shooters actually add weight to the barrel and pistol to make them heavier.. once they align the sights the pistol does not swing or sway or wave around (as much) as a lighter pistol. S&W actually ships these out with flimsy, nay, cheap wood grips. Wood grips (unless massive) do not absorb recoil. So you got an awesome ultralight 44 magnum which when you fire one full boat round scares the crap out of you, hurts your wrist, concussive blast, and there goes your arm straight up in the air. Good Job. You got one round off. Bye Bye.

ROCKEGROUP/MAGNAPORT: Rockegroup called Magnaport to see if they can figure out how to deal with a Scandium frame, Titanium cylinder, Stainless Steel barrel and reduce recoil by over 30%. Yep they figured it out. Go through the Scandium and clean it out then begin barrel work. Congrats they got the job done! Next problem small wood grips. Nope. Called Hogue and they recommended their X frame tamers in matching black. If they can tame a .500 and or .460 they will absorb a substantial amount of full boat .44; the combination achieved the desired results with recoil spanked 40% ish overall. This allows the shooter to maintain the revolver in a shooting plane and put fast voluminous rounds on target in a CQB scenario. Interior blueprint maintains the trigger and action for CQB and provides a no creep single action for precision work. As for weight and accuracy; these are for fast close in work to save your life. You wish to shoot 40 yards for fun fine cock it and shoot single action. Otherwise double action close in as as fast as you can pull jerk slam or press the trigger! By the way S&W markets these for hunting (not), competition (not), home defense (not), and outdoor bear back up. Yes outdoor backup as described and adapted by Rockegroup!

ACCESSORIES: Ships with one set of presentation Smith & Wesson custom wood grips (not the trash they send on the pistol). These are awesome for shooting lighter .44 Special loads and to wear to your Texas BBQ. Second set of grips are Hogue Tamers (installed) in black; some kind of Hogue proprietary recoil reducing rubber grips. Four boxes of ammunition. Two boxes 50 rounds each (100 rounds) HSM Montana made Bear medicine 305 Grain WFN Gas Check ammunition. These are full power loads for Brown and Grizzly bear back up use. Also ships with two boxes Buffalo Bore Heavy 44 Special 255 Grain Keith loads 20 per box total 40 rounds. Awesome lighter loads for mountain lion and other back up work to include the occasional back country bad humanoid type. Total ammo count 140 rounds, 4 boxes. Ships in the airline approved Pelican hardcase, lockable.

COST/BUILD: Find a new Smith & Wesson Titanium .44 Magnum new in box (NIB) for $1200 shipped, Magnaport with shipping hither and yon $460, one box of HSM (50 rounds) 305 grain is $60 per box x 2 = $120. One box Buffalo Bore Heavy .44 Special $45 per box of 20 on their site x 2 = $90. Airline approve Pelican another $90, Hogue Tamers $44. S&W presentation wood grips another $100. Total to build your own and wait 4 months is $2104. Az pays tax visa mc discover AMEX add 3.5%
