BACKSTORY: Turnbull Restoration under contract built authentic Remington/UMC WWI 1911 reproductions. Built to the exact original military specifications to include all military proofs and stamps these 1911 units however have all the benefits of current manufacture hand built Turnbull production. These are so authentic the proof mark is identical to the originals and as such is slightly crooked. Turnbull will not manufacture anymore of these as they were a limited contract run.

After consult we all envisioned a 1911 which could be period correct and smoke a SASS Wild Bunch match yet an hour later sit in a tactical drop holster on a SWAT raid. KIRKPATRICK LEATHER/WILD BUNCH HOLSTER RIG #1: These pistols can be used the same as any new Wilson Combat or Nighthawk Custom 1911. EDC, home defense, offense, what have you. The Novak tritium sights allow for instant CQB and precision use without destroying the original 1911 “lines”. Rig is representative of the 1911 as manufactured during and after WWI. Since the “Wild Bunch” movie is a classic of those times we contacted Kirkpatrick Leather for hand built custom “Wild Bunch” rigs. Slide the 1911 in this rig and you are speechless.. ordered with four double magazine holders meaning the rig holds eight magazines. Check the pictures. Many months later Kirkpatrick delivered our first rig.. for $650 United States Dollars, shipped. The Wild Bunch rig is now a custom order on their site; you can order one for the same price (we do not get a discount). Border Stamp with two extra double magazine holders = $600 shipped, then upgrade the buckle for another $50. The leather belt with this rig can be replaced with one “your size” after purchase. You will use this belt to check fit and add or subtract inches from there. New belt will take approximately three months to custom manufacture for you.

BRAND NEW TWO TONE MAGAZINES: These are the type that were made up until just before WWII. They are called “two tone” because only the bottom half of the magazine was blued, while the upper half was left “in the white.” These are brand new manufacture from a premier magazine manufacturer and shipped to Turnbull Restoration where they were 1/2 “blued” to be historically accurate. You get four brand new two tone magazines. Note these new magazines are no longer available from Turnbull Restoration and are running over $120 each on the secondary market ie ebay and Gunbroker.
WILSON COMBAT TACTICAL MAGAZINES: Wilson Combat has recently usurped all other magazine manufacturers with their Vickers Duty 8 round ETM Elite Tactical Magazines (#800). You get four full blown SWAT mags + the four two tone = eight magazines.
NIGHTHAWK CUSTOM PRESENTATION GRIPS: Ships with three sets of grips; cocobolo double diamond grips are upgraded grips reminiscent of original WWI GI issue for your SASS match, another upgraded set direct from Nighthawk Custom with Nighthawk Custom medallions for your Sunday BBQ and or presentation, and another set of tactical SWAT grips.
CHOICE “WILD BUNCH” AMMUNITION: We use Choice Ammunition in 80% of our custom hunting rifles with custom BDC turrets and turned to them for some SASS approved “Wild Bunch” ammunition. Loaded in a Wells Fargo bag these are 230 grain 100% handloads, 250 rounds. We do not get any “dealer” discounts from Choice either and these are $250 shipped for one bag.. and you get one bag. One bag of 250 rounds. Note this weapon is enhanced for use with all current tactical and/or +P .45 ACP ammunition.
COMPLETION: Unfreakingbelievable. I went to the Louvre years ago and stared at the Mona Lisa. To be frank I just did not get it. If it was in my office or home or shop I would take it down and give it to Kiwanis. Just does not ring my bell. After an exhaustive day I actually sit down and will grab a brew of whatever my choice that week is and stare my personal ensemble (one of the three). This is art. It is like taking a valium.. calming. Beautiful. The completed “Wild Bunch” ensemble is beyond words in beauty to me. Yep. Beats the Mona Lisa.
