TRIJICON HD XR ORANGE FRONT SIGHT: Used for advanced target identification and engagement at increased distances, ideal for police and competitive shooters. Thinner front sight post allows the shooter to have a larger field of view which further enhances the ability to identify targets, expedite engagements and see hits on target at longer distances. For local and federal law enforcement and pistol shooters that need the advantage of a more precise engagement and hit placement. Rear sight is the wide “U” notch Tactical Edge serrated at 40lpi to reduce glare.
OHESO CERTIFICATION: One Handed Emergency Slide Operation (OHESO) works on the theory that you will not be unscathed in a gunfight. If you lose the ability to utilize an extremity ie arm you can use the other arm ie extremity to rack the slide off your pants, curb, wall, what have you by “hooking” or snagging the rear sight and racking the slide. The sights will hold the slide immobile while you run the frame. Note the rear sight is the preferred wide “U” notch combat sight which allows an instantaneous sight picture for CQB yet with the HD XR front allows for precision use also..
DONT GET SCREWED NOTICE: If you are looking at an Ed Brown pistol with fiber optic sights and “Special Forces” hoopla on the slide these ain’t them. These are premium hand built Ed brown customs with Trijicon HD and professional slides, ie “naked”.

QUESTION: No picatinny rail for a weapons light!!
ANSWER: Thank Christ
Ok. You want the truth? You can’t handle the truth! But here it is anyway: * You cannot point a weapon at anything you are not willing to destroy. This means you cannot use a weapons mounted light unless you are ready to terminate whatever your barrel is pointing at. Sure as crapola though you will be looking for a dropped screw and you wont have an EDC light so you will pull your cocked and locked 1911 and whip on that light. Bad bad Alex. Get caught it will go in your file. * In my humble opinion your proper light technique is a one handed pistol carry with the light in your weak hand. You can keep the pistol close in to your side and hold the offhand light out, high, low, whatever. Remember this is a CQB scenario in low/no light conditions. * You ever carry a 1911 all day on your hip with a weapons light? Nuff said. * A rail on a Commander is ergonomically ok but on a full sized 1911 ruins the ergonomics, aesthetics (cmon a 1911 like this is beautiful), makes it too forward heavy, and nigh to unobtainable to draw sitting. * And more for Alex.. the “Harry’s and Mary’s and Rogers” techniques preclude the ability to actually brawl in close quarters so screw those also..
