SUPERMATCH 13.5″ LIGHT BARREL: Civilian legal 13.5″ barrel. The flash hider is pinned so it is over 16″ = civilian legal. Since the flash hider is pinned this carbine will never take a suppressor. Supermatch barrel is turned from the finest 416R stainless steel and then lead-lapped, button rifled, air-gauged to ensure minimal bore diameter run out for peak accuracy. Cryogenically treated Supermatch™ barrel insures cold bore shot predictability, minimum thermal drift, outstanding accuracy and extended barrel life. Carbine will shoot any 5.56 or .223 you feed it; note the carbine is listed with the “Wylde” chamber. Note the “light” contour barrel is not “light”. It is the same as a standard M4 barrel in width and weight. Carbine is not an uberlight carbine; weighs 8.2 lbs as equipped with optics, sling, etc. Perfect weight for an LE carbine perfect weight for a defensive carbine. The 13.5″ barrel does not decrease weight, it redistributes weight. The weight is centered just forward of the lower; this weight configuration tends to eliminate sight “wobble”, steadies the carbine, reduces recoil even further and allows for faster follow up shots. This 13.5″ barrel ends up at 16″ OAL yet the weight distribution makes for an ergonomically correct, easy to maneuver platform.
THERMAL HEAT DISSIPATOR: The thicker barrel contour (classified as light) allows for faster heat dissipation and has slower heat build up than the ultra light barrel. In addition this carbine has a heat dissipator which increases mass which in turn allows the barrel to heat even slower and cool even faster during high strings of fire.
MINIMAL RECOIL: As configured carbine has miniscule recoil due to the custom build with the low mass bolt carrier and the Generation 2 Silent Captured Spring System. Carbine does not have a compensator which would make it unacceptable for LE, contract, or school use.
LAW ENFORCEMENT AUTHORIZED, CONTRACT AUTHORIZED, “SCHOOL” AUTHORIZED: Authorized for LE use as this custom build has the LE approved JP flash hider and the apropro trigger group. A compensator would not be approved as it expels all it’s gases to the side and rear which means anyone standing next to the shooter will suffer hearing loss (even with “ears” on) and concussive blast; ergo you cannot have anyone standing at your side within 5′ or so = no LE use, no school “on the line” use, no contract use. But this carbine IS AUTHORIZED with the custom JP flash hider. Note the trigger group is a Tier One operator system but is also authorized for LE use.
AIMPOINT RED DOT/GEISSELE MOUNT: The Comp M4s is the finest red dot on the market today, and has been for a decade or so. It is directly responsible for thousands of deceased enemy combatants and is virtually indestructible. The standard infantry soldier sight in NATO countries. Standard Law Enforcement use for all Homeland Security entities and domestic Law Enforcement. These optics are extremely rugged and operate continuously for up to 8 years using a single AA battery. C’mon guys.. eight years on one AA battery? You never ever turn this off; and um every house and hut in the world has AA batteries. Yes they make smaller red dots. But they do not make tougher red dots.. mounted on the premier Geissele mount. The Geissele mount/height allows for instant red dot acquisition and the Magpul BUIS co-witness throught the Comp M4s.
COMP M4s RED DOT ZEROED: If you want the optic zeroed it will hit dead on at 50 and 200 yards, 1.4″ high at 100 yards, and have a BZO of 325 yards. Battlefield zero or BZO means you will be able to smack silhouettes to 325 yards with no holdover.
MAGPUL BUIS: Magpul BUIS back up iron sights or BUPS back up plastic sights are exceptional. Both the front and rear BUIS have ambidextrous release buttons which “pop” the sight up when needed. The rear sight has two viewing ports; one smaller port (hole) for precision longer range work and a large port (viewing hole) for CQB. Using the CQB port in the up position these BUIS are simply awesome. The BUIS or BUPS when in the up position are clearly visible through the Aimpoint Comp M4s red dot; the Comp M4 does not impede the use of the BUIS. Since the Comp M4s is indestructible and has an 8 year battery life and is always kept “on” I am not sure what use the BUIS truly have but but but..
MAGPUL MS4 SLING: Never been a fan of slings. On the range they seem to simply get in your way and I prefer mine in a drawer. That said if you are a Law Enforcement officer or are going to carry a sidearm and an AR the sling is a must. This Magpul set up allows the end user to drop the rifle if it jams and go straight to your sidearm or if one or both hands need to be occupied elsewhere dump the carbine. Dumping the carbine simply allows it swing flat to your chest/vest/carrier where it can be instantly reacquired when necessary.
SIDE NOTES: The JP forward modular rail allows the operator to place equipment anywhere on the carbine the same as an M-LOK rail only better.. your accessories screw directly to the rail or you can use picatinny rails wherever you choose. The upper has a full length numerically identified picatinny rail topside. Rockegroup, LLC added a forward sling attach port (quick release) and a forward hand/barrier stop, both JP manufacture.
