Description
ACCURACY INTERNATIONAL AT “ACCURACY TACTICAL” LAW ENFORCEMENT DOMESTIC SWAT SNIPER RIFLE .308 WINCHESTER W/ STEINER MILITARY DIVISION OPTICS ALL UPGRADES.. ships as a “Pick up and Shoot” package with optics zeroed; simply pick up, load up, and shoot or unfired your choice.
SNIPER RIFLE SPECS/MANUFACTURER STATEMENT: “Available to Law Enforcement and military entities, Accuracy International’s legacy of combat proven rifles is the AT (Accuracy Tactical) rifle. The Accuracy International AT features a proofed steel action, AI’s Quickloc quick release barrel system, mil-std-1913 action and forend rail, 6-lug 60° bolt with AI leaf spring extractor, three-position safety, two-stage trigger for adjustable trigger weight, detachable 10 round double stack magazine, fixed stock, adjustable cheekpiece, fixed buttpad with spacers, flush cup sling attachment points, and a double chamber standard muzzle brake. Designed for harsh environments and superior accuracy, the Accuracy International AT will withstand the battle and the war”.
ROCKEGROUP STATEMENT: Accuracy International, in it’s infinite wisdom, will no longer sell the AT aka AI AT to civilians (ours are available for civilian purchase). It will remain a catalog offer for Law Enforcement and Government entities only as it is “phased out”. It is being phased out of their product line for two reasons; civilians want a rifle with over 50 mounting “holes” and it must look futuristic with crap all over it no one will use. The other reason (which I cannot fathom) is AI has elected to sell their true sniper platforms to certificated Law Enforcement only. LE entities must provide requests on letterhead with PO’s issued by their respective authority and pay via city, county, township, state, what have you. This is on the back of current litigation against numerous firearm manufacturers despite the PLCAA law that is supposed to protect firearm manufacturers and dealers from being held liable when crimes have been committed with their products. In short the PLCAA is not working and AI will now only sell “competition” rifles to civilians.
ROCKEGROUP STATEMENT II: The two finest Law Enforcement sniper rifles manufactured are the Accuracy International AT and the Steyr SSG 08-A1. Note the Steyr is the SSG 08-A1 not the plain SSG. Also note we said the finest Law Enforcement sniper rifles not military sniper rifles; the LE sniper can expect an apricot shot under 100 yards while the military is moving their sniper game into the two mile realm.
POLICE SNIPER UTILIZATION REPORT: The latest most comprehensive report on domestic LE sniper shootings is about 234 pages long. Based on over 500 LE sniper (SWAT) shootings it finally states..
- The .308 Winchester was the most common caliber firearm used by snipers.
- Fewer than half of the persons shot were struck in the head. Most suspects were hit in the body or extremities.
- Sniper shootings are seldom from a prone bipod position. Nearly half of snipers have had to utilize improvised positions.
- Over 98% of recorded police sniper shootings took place at distances less than 200 yards; contrary to the belief that snipers in rural areas deploy and shoot at long ranges.
- Night-vision equipment has played an extremely limited role, if any, in actual shootings to date.
ROCKEGROUP STATEMENT III: Ok.. over 98% of domestic LE SWAT shootings are under 200 yards. The stunning majority are under 70 yards. You do not want or need a 26 inch long barreled thingy in .300 Norma to use as a domestic LE SWAT sniper as it would be more than a hindrance. Kinda passes the absurd maxim.
ROCKEGROUP STATEMENT XXXI: Back to the two finest domestic LE sniper rifles, made simple.
* The Steyr SSG 08-A1 has everything you need already installed ready to go sans optics. Bipod, monopod, rails, muzzle brake, threaded, suppressor ready. Everything is done you need not buy “accessories”.
* The Rockegroup AT rifle is complete with bipod, spigot, NV mount, rail mount, muzzle brake and picatinny rails BUT Accuracy International ships the rifle with no bipod, no spigot, no NV rail, no picatinny rails, no rail mounts, no brake. Nothing. You have to spend hours buying all the accessories to complete your sniper rifle (which we have done for you).
* The Steyr will run over 2k more than your completed AI AT rifle but they will both run the same with identical accuracy expectations.
STEINER MILITARY 2.9-20 MSR-2: Military branded Steiner M7Xi illuminated 2.9-20X50 MSR-2 . These “Military” units are manufactured in Deutschland and are the finest scopes manufactured today for the tactical arena. “The German-made M7Xi built to strict military specs and precisely crafted for victory – on the battlefield, or in competition. The 2-20x is for mid-range shooting to 1100 meters; ideal for snipers using precision bolt guns. 34mm tube, patented DuoScale elevation adjustment with a second-rotation scale that’s hidden when inactive. Current availability for Government, LE, or Military contracts. This unit is new manufacture, mounted, passed a certificated box test, and if requested ships zeroed.
The magnification range on this insures the end user can take the apricot shot as close as 10′. At it’s lowest magnification the clarity is stunning as close as 10′ enabling the end user to take the apricot shot.. yet dial to 20x for your 1000 yard silhouettes. Having an optic with the ability to take the shot from as near as 10′ yet reach beyond 800 yards is nothing short of spectacular.
MSR-2 RETICLE: The optic reticle has an “enemy combatant” graph or rangefinder. By putting the “enemy combatant” in the graph an instant range estimation can be realized. Graph can be utilized for any known objects size; ie, deer runs 36 ” tall (body), coyote 24 inches at the shoulder etc. Of course as a sniper you already know the standard door size, standard window dimensions and can use those for your range estimation. From Steiner military division; “used today by Special Forces around the globe – Steiner sets a new benchmark with the ultimate sniper scope. The 7x zoom gives the operator more flexibility and a higher resolution from close quarter to mid-range to extended range scenarios while the large field of view and the outstanding optical quality create a perfect overview of the surroundings at all times. The M7Xi 2.9-20 has been designed to resist the toughest conditions and is already proven battle worthy and beyond”.
TREMOR III SUCKS: The worst reticle for a hunter and or a domestic LE sniper is the Tremor III series of reticles for numerous reasons. The reticle is a great reticle for the military sniper with a spotter whom is directing the shooter. Strong learning curve to use the reticle properly; designed for long distance shooting. Supposedly when you see your “miss” impact you move your crosshair for your second shot which will be “dead on”, which is bullcrap. Chances of spotting your miss are low to start with and your false sense of confidence with the Tremor III leads to continued failure. Any ethical hunter would not use a “miss” formula nor would an LE sniper. In addition the massive “Christmas tree” reticle may occlude your target. But hey it looks cool!
SPUHR MOUNT: The finest mounts in the world, Spuhr, manufactured Loddekoping, South of Sweden. 34mm with an integral anti-cant device (bubble level). These LE sniper rifles also include a Snipers Hide anti-cant on the 34mm scope tube.
SPUHR MOUNT MOA NOTE: The picatinny rail on the AT rifle is a 20 MOA rail; the Spuhr mount is “0” MOA because the rail is already 20 MOA.
TRIJICON OFFSET RMR: The Trijicon RMR Type 2 red dot is on a Spuhr offset mount; suitable for military and law enforcement applications. Features a sensor, which automatically adjusts the brightness of the illuminated red dot based on ambient lighting conditions. The red dot is immediately acquired by turning your head to the side or simply canting the rifle. Typically used in scenarios where you may engage under 10 yards. Not really seeing a strong use/value in the mounted RMR and it can be quickly removed if desired.
CALIBER .308 WINCHESTER: The .308 Winchester has been the premier LE, Government, and military sniper round for a couple decades and ain’t going anywhere. Ammunition availability is literally everywhere in the entire world. Every NATO country uses the 7.62 and/or .308 Winchester. Every police department. Homeland Security, Capital Police, BATFE, Border Patrol BORTAC, US Army, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard. Russia is using the .308 Winchester in sniper rifles in Syria. Seriously.
ATLAS DUOFOLD BIPOD: BT65 Gen. 2 CAL Atlas Bipod. CAL (Cant And Loc) Atlas Bipods were developed for shooters that require a hard rest. Legs are duofold and will fold flush parallel to the stock or “out”. CAL formatted pod has a greater extension between legs giving the rifle enhanced stability. Picatinny rail mount via a low profile two screw clamp assembly. It is comprised of 6061-T6 aluminum that is Mil-Spec Type III hard coat anodized and have heat treated stainless steel components. Note this does not mount on a picatiny rail; the AIAT has a “spigot” and the bipod is upgraded with the BT19 spigot which is inserted into the end of the rifle chassis itself.
MAGAZINES: Ships with two 10 round Accuracy International flush fit magazines. The magazines are staggered magazines and actually hold 11 rounds; with “plus one” your AI AT can hold 12 rounds “flush”.
STREAMLIGHT LE SNIPER WHITE LIGHT: 490 meter beam. That is 536 yards. Five (5) football fields. Snipe away. Illuminate dark areas during tactical missions. Waterproof housing, virtually unbreakable for use in harsh environments and conditions. The Streamlight TLR-1 HPL High Lumen Gun Light has a thumbscrew and is easily removable for use as a hand held light.
FIXED STOCK VS FOLDING STOCK: This rifle has a fixed stock, which should be preferred. Your rifle should be ready to go when you pick it up; not looking around for a stock release button and subsequently stumbling around wasting time unfolding the stock. A fixed stock is set for you personally and is always ready; grab and go or grab and shoot. Instantaneously. Cons for the fixed stock in the AI AT; you must raise or remove the cheek rest to remove the bolt. So what.
COST/BUILD: There are no AI AT rifles available for civilian sale; Mile High Shooting has the AT LE for certificated officers $5900 shipped. Then you need to acquire and install the following:
