ROCKEGROUP STATEMENT: This rifle feels perfect with awesome ergonomics. Twenty one inch barrel and shoots 900+ yards all day long in this .338 RUM combo. Ballistic Turret means you range to target and turn the turret to that range. Brown Bear/Moose/Elk/Cape Buffalo/ Wolf/ Muley/ Mastodon whatever at 425 yards? Turn the turret to 4.25. Target at 600 yards turn the turret to “6”. Completely tuned, zeroed and set up with the included Gunwerks ammunition and Ballistic Turret. Note the Gunwerks upgrade for the Long Range Package with Berger cartridges and the ballistic turret is a $1275 add!
CALIBER .338 RUM: The .338 RUM is a true long distance cartridge and allows for precision 900 yards shooting (with this rifle). That said I cannot call wind reliably and the longest I can shoot at large game for a one shot kill is about 600 yards.. on a calm morning with no wind. Hence the .338 RUM. Less recoil, insanely accurate, long distance capability, long distance lethality, numerous bullet loads available from white tailed deer to Brown Bear, Elephant, Musk Ox, Cape Buffalo, Lion.. all of it.
CALIBER .338 RUM PART II: The Clymr Skuhl in .338 RUM is my favorite Gunwerks rifle. Rockegroup staff have taken Moose, Bear, Bison with the Clymr Skuhl .338 RUM. On a Bison hunt we set up on a range at 600 yards and using a Clymr/Skuhl .338 RUM hammered 15 inch plates with boring repetitiveness. I mean this rifle is freaking full blown chock full o’ awesomeness!
BORDEN ON THE .338 RUM: “Close analysis of the .338 Lapua vs .338 RUM shows the RUM delivers equal velocities with less powder and shorter barrel length”. Read that three times. Recoil in this rifle is the same as a .300 Win Mag. For real.
CHICHESTER ON THE .338 RUM: “When big game absolutely positively has to be killed with one shot, out to 900 yards, in a hunting format, the .338 RUM has no peers”.
RECOIL ON THE CLYMR/SKUHL .338 RUM: Roxie in the pictures shoots the .338 RUM in the Clymr/Skuhl as shown in the pictures. Recoil is noticeable; akin to a non-brake .300 Win Mag in this package.

A longer barrel would be a waste…

LEUPOLD MARK 5HD OPTICS: The relatively new MARK 5HD series destroys all comers for one reason.. weight. Swarovski, Kahles, Nightforce, Steiner in the 3-18 range all are pretty much same same regarding optic quality. Kahles are heavy heavy scopes and can be used as clubs if not mounted, Swaros are longer. Nightforce are both heavy and long. The Leupold in the MARK 5HD is a 35mm short, squat, uber lightweight dream at 24 ounces. This Elite Hunter bullet design increases Ballistic Coefficient values by increasing ogive and boat tail lengths to improve the bullets’ long-range ballistic performance. For the hunter who is confident in long-range big game hunting the Berger Elite cannot be beat.
- TURRET #2 AND AMMUNITION INFO: The 2d turret included should be your standard “go to” turret… at all times. It is for the Berger Hammer Hunter 260 Grain and has been used for game up to and including Bison and massive Brown Bear.
