The precision of the Defiance Action, Proof Carbon Fiber barrel, with the light weight, snag-free design of the Manners Composite Stocks Pro Hunter (MCS-PH). The Defiance Action features a one-piece bolt construction with deep spiral flutes and very open “Sheep Hunter” loading and ejection port. The port design reduces action weight and makes it very easy to load cartridges into the rifle, even in gloved hands. One-to-one aluminum pillar and glass bedding system to the action using individual bedding pillars that match the radius of your action. Full-length glass bed receiver and recoil lug for a perfectly mated fit between your stock and action. Bottom metal bedded so it is exactly square to the receiver. The MCS-PH includes a comfortable high cheek weld for long range hunting optics; flat bottom for extreme stability when shooting in bags; slight inward taper on comb to add comfort for recoil; and dual ambidextrous thumb shelves. The Zero Exposure Bi-pod Rail works with both Harris and pic rail mounted bi-pods. The Flush Arca Mount is recessed to enable a flush position and hard-mounted to internal blocks = rock solid. Precisely threaded/chambered Proof Research carbon fiber barrel in a Sendero Light contour. Barrel break-in in-house. Barrel break-in and test accuracy with factory Hornady ELD-X 175 grain ammunition that is readily available. This specific rifle shoots just over 1/3″ at 100 yards = 4 inches at 1000 yards. Test target included. The rifle has been tested from a bag rest to verify proper feeding, extraction, ejection and accuracy. Final targets and ammunition data included.
LEUPOLD MARK 5 HD PREMIER OPTICS: Leupold 176616 Mark 5HD Black 5-25x56mm, 35mm Tube, Illuminated FFP Gunwerks RH1 Reticle
The Mark 5 HD series 3-18 are our typical “go to” hunting optic. Since you will be shooting 1000 yards we have upgraded the optic to the 5-25; this will, however, put you at a disadvantage shooting 40-150 yards or so. Premier optic is a standard install on the Gunwerks rifles and this unit was manufactured with the Gunwerks reticle. Designed by Gunwerks specifically for hunting. At long range windage hash marks with “push left” or “push right”. At the 25x the full reticle is apparent yet at 5x the reticle has bold framing hash marks on each side and the bottom; this allows you to frame an animal at closer range.
