NIGHTHAWK CUSTOM/SPRINGFIELD ARMORY: These pistols were built 100% by Nighthawk Custom to specific specs. Bob Reeves is the head of the Nighthawk Custom shop and ran these builds start to finish. Pistols include Match Grade stainless barrels and shoot holes in holes. The Nighthawk Custom test target and custom itemization is in the pictures. In addition to the itemized list below these high end customs have Nighthawk machine work to include high cut trigger guard, front strap vertical serrations with matching vertical serrations on the Nighthawk mainspring housing. Includes the ubiquitous French border found on high end custom pistols.
* French border is a milled line in the slide generally where the flat surface transitions to the round slide top.
* The 1911 French border is the separation line between the flat and the rounded top of the slide.
* A French bordello is a house of working girls located in France.

SIGHT PACKAGE: Fit and install Trijicon Novak style Lo-Mount Carry 1911 Tritium Dot Ghost Rear Sight. Fit and install Tritium Trijicon HD orange Front Sight. These are the fastest acquiring sights available. Massive U notch rear sight with a single tritium dot, high vis Orange tritium front sight. Utilizes the “8” ball system. Simply put the front sight circle/dot above the rear sight tritium “dot” and rock. These sights are faster than any red dot and any iron sights currently on the market to include the XS system. Over 90% of civilian and LE gunfights occur in the 5′ range (CQB close quarter battle). As an aside red dots are great on a handgun for 25 yard silhouettes but are horrific for CQB, mainly due to acquisition time.
OHESO CERTIFICATED: One Handed Emergency Slide Operation (OHESO) works on the theory that you will not be unscathed in a gunfight. If you lose the ability to utilize an extremity ie arm you can use the other arm ie extremity to rack the slide off your pants, belt, curb, wall, what have you by “hooking” or snagging the rear sight and racking the slide. The rear sight will snag and hold the slide immobile while you run the frame one handed. The rear sight is designed as a snag free EDC sight as the sides of the sight are milled in and smooth yet the upper portion of the sight is “bent” forward with a “bite” on the top to allow for a solid snag.
CUSTOM NITRIDE FINISH: At 64 HRC, nitride is just six units below a diamond finish at 70 HRC. This means that the metal is solid and durable. This increase in the metal’s strength insures the firearm is better protected and results in a high resistance to erosion. Performs exceptionally well in areas with extreme temperatures, including cold, and places where the gun parts will be exposed to abrasives such as sand in the desert. A nitride finish’s smooth surface also means that the gun will be easier to clean and will need much less lubrication to keep it in good working order. The Nighthawk Custom “Smoked” finish gives these a stunning version of a nitride finished pistol.
TEST TARGET: Moneyball. Certificated target from Nighthawk Custom. All rounds shoot through the same hole.. at 36 feet. Thirty six feet with the sight system installed and all rounds touch or go through the same hole. Thirty six (36) feet. Over 90% of gunfights occur within 5 feet. Standard response is a non issue. Precision shots non issue.

SYNOPSIS: There is no current manufacturer of high end custom pistols that actually builds a 1911 “true”pistol. Nighthawk Custom, Wilson Combat, Ed Brown. All build variations of the 1911 but none actually replicate a “true” 1911. Meaning the weight, the balance, the original ergonomics which made the 1911 a pistol which will easily be in service for over 150 years. Once you pick up this original contoured 1911 you will understand. And remember. No Star Wars crap here with fake holes and cuts and useless serrations for those that deem such cool.
