FUD BACKSTORY: This rifle is stamped #20 of 50. It was hand built by Gunwerks, tuned by Gunwerks, and zeroed by Gunwerks. It includes the Gunwerks Long Range Package as described below. After completion it was set to be shot once at 200 yards for zero reverification. Present at this verification was an IT Guru named Darrel, a corporate CEO named Billy D, myself, and a group of long range shooters. The rifle was fired once at 200 yards and was a dead center hit. Story should end there, but, Darrel, the “IT” guy had never fired a long range rifle so the rifle was loaded with one round and Darrel was up! 550 yards, 14″ steel plate. The turret was turned to 5.5 and we stood around jawing while Darrel (we presumed) was inspecting the rifle. Darrel is right handed. A right handed shooter sits on the bench with the rifle on his right side, stock in shoulder, good cheek weld, slightly forward to absorb recoil, right arm snuggling the rifle, right thumb on thumb shelf, index finger flat on the side of the stock till trigger time.
DARREL FUD: As we stood there watching Darrel he lined up facing the rifle from the right. Wrong side. Standing. At 6’4″ and 250 or so Darrel is not a small man. Rifle is on a bench with the bipod out and a small shooting bag under the rear of the stock. Darrel leans over the rifle from the RIGHT (wrong side for right handed shooter), looks through the scope bent over with his LEFT eye, has the stock in is left bicep, and with his right loose arm sticks his right index finger in the trigger guard and presses the trigger. Ka-Blam as the rifle fires followed by “tink” as the bullet hits steel 550 yards away. WTF? WTF? What the fug just happened? Darrel says can I shoot it one more time? The group is staring at each other wondering what just happened?? Go ahead Darrel! Once again he lines up on the wrong side, bends over, sticks his left eye over the ocular portion of the scope and with that swinging right hand sticks his finger on the trigger… Ka-Blam! Tink! Dead center hit. Again. WTF WTF Hey Darrel you are one Fukd Up Duck! You cannot shoot a rifle that way what the hell are you doing? Darrel looks at us bewildered and says “it went Tink”. What’s wrong? We explain everything he did is wrong and Darrel says nyah, I am right handed but left eye dominant and it is the only way I can look through the scope. We explain again everything is wrong you cannot shoot that way close your left eye… and Darrel says “every time I hit the trigger the bullet goes “Tink” when it hits steel. So what’s the problem? We all look at each other speechless, mumbling this and that, and ultimately find we cannot argue with his illogical logic.
BILLY D: After Darrel did his Fukd Up Duck (FUD) Billy wanted a crack. Billy D is not a hunter. Billy D is not a shooter. Billy D owns a Glock G17 which he never shoots anyhoo. Billy D at least lined up half ass correct on the rifle and at 550 yards fired one round. Tink! 14″ plate. WTF WTF? Then we switched him to a 440 yard 12″ plate. Ka-Blam… Tink! WTF WTF?
KLIMEK UP: Klimek fancies himself a shooter. Klimek has shot several hundreds of rifles if not a couple thousand. Klimek has had one “magic” rifle out of all of those he has ever shot. One. Of course the dipshit sold it. Always regretted it, never forgot it. Still thinks of that magic rifle. Klimek now has to shoot the FUD to see what the hell is going on… and magic shows up. The second Klimek envelops the rifle the magic mind melds into him from the FUD. The rifle at nigh to 12 lbs is rock solid and steady. Klimek’s heart beat and respiration have no effect on FUD. FUD’s reticle sits on a target at 550 yards with the optic at 10x. Solid. Unmoving. Klimek touches the trigger. Ka-Blam! Tink! Klimek feels the magic coursing through his entire body… could this be true? Another magic rifle? One more shot? 440 yards 10 inch plate. Ka-Blam. Tink! FUD assures Klimek he need not shoot again. It assures all it truly is a magic rifle.
FUD NAMING/AFTERMATH: All present, having felt the magic, agreed the rifle needed to be named and stamped assuring it would forever be separate from all others. As names were bandied about Darrel could be heard repetitively mumbling… ” I aint no fukd up duck. It goes Tink! How could I be a FUD if it goes Tink?” All present re-assured Darrel he WAS a fukd up duck. A FUD. And in honor of Darrel, the Fukd Up Duck, the rifle was named and stamped FUD on the spot. This rifle has soo much magic that even a Fukd Up Duck can smack steel at 1000 yards. Magic. FUD.
SNIPER/HUNTER: Special Forces, Navy Seals, USMC snipers all use the .300 Winchester Magnum cartridge in sniper platforms today. These rifles certainly qualify as sniper platforms yet are well suited for the hunting arena when using blinds, rifle boxes, shooting platforms. At 11 1/2 lbs these are not mountain rifles but are exceptional hunting rifles when you do not need to trek long distance. These would serve admirably on a coastal Brown Bear hunt and certainly fulfill your Whitetail needs.
.300 WINCHESTER MAGNUM VS .300 PRC: No military or law enforcement personnel use the .300 PRC. They use the .300 Win Mag. The .300 PRC is the “latest greatest” as it will outperform the .300 Win Mag after 900-1100 yards or so. Whoopee. No Alaska guide wants you using a .300 PRC… on anything. Bullets for the .300 PRC are extreme ELD and VLD bullets specifically designed for long range shooting. There are 121 commercial loads for the .300 Win Mag with cartridges loaded with bullets for Whitetail deer starting at 150 grains to full blown Brown Bear Monolithic solids at 220 Grains. There are NO bullets in the .300 PRC under 190 grains and NO cartridges available for Brown Bear. None. There are 15 commercially loaded .300 PRC cartridges today. Fifteen.
.300 WINCHESTER MAGNUM PART DEUX: If we are being honest the odds of you having the ability to shoot and ethically kill game over 800 yards with one shot is… none. Unless you devote a massive swath of your life to long range shooting you will never have the ability to ethically take game with one shot at that distance. I hold at 600 yards on a calm day, no wind, when hunting. Ergo I am better served with the .300 Winchester Magnum than the PRC. My bullet selection with the Win Mag enables more lethality at hunting distances for all game vs the .300 PRC. Period, nuff said.
GUNWERKS LONG RANGE PACKAGE: These rifles have been tuned by Gunwerks to shoot 1500 yards out of the box. Rifle has been zeroed and the rifle tuned with a Ballistic Turret. Deer at 500 yards, dial to “5”. Moose at 650 yards dial to “6.5”. Steel plate at 1500 yards get some!
BERGER 215 GRAIN HYBRID: Rifle is tuned for these Berger bullets but they will shoot any .300 Win Mag cartridges. Your BR4 range finder can be loaded with data for any cartridge and regardless of what is stamped on the BDC (turret) it will give you a “shoot to” solution for that cartridge. This package includes one case of Gunwerks hand loaded cartridges, 200 rounds.
GUNWERKS REVIC TRIPOD: The rifle has an Arca plate installed and slide on the included Revic tripod. “Designed to be an all-purpose solution from the range to the field. Rugged and reliable, shooting the heaviest rifles and glassing in the gustiest winds has never felt more stable”. Adjustable height from 3 – 62 inches fits a variety of shooters and situations.
BT INDUSTRIES ATLAS BIPOD: The military uses the BT Atlas bipod system and the duofold CAL bipod is installed. The BT 65 Gen II CAL allows the end user to fold the legs forward or backward for a flush fit.

PREMIER GRADE SHOOTING MAT/CASE/PACK: Tri fold Coyote Brown shooting mat/case. Pack straps are under a velcro cover on the flip side of the case. When “under cover” the pack straps cannot be seen and provide a smooth overall soft case.
