$10,707.00

Description

HILL COUNTRY RIFLES .308 WINCHESTER COMPACT HUNTER EVERY OPTION EVERY UPGRADE SHOOTS 1/3″ AT 100 YARDS OR 2″ GROUPS AT 600 YARDS WITH SWAROVSKI ILLUMINATED SCOPE, BIPOD, APA CHOTE BRAKE, TONS O’ AMMO read on! Note this rifle is tuned and blueprinted with a Swarovski scope which has a custom ballistic turret for this exact rifle. Target at 425 yards? Turn the elevation knob to 4.25! Simple. No hold over..

CALIBER .308 HUNTING: New hunting ammunition has punched the .308 further into arenas it has always occupied; all mid sized game along with Elk and Moose at reasonable distance. Manufacturers are now making ELD and VLD cartridges to enhance lethality at distance and bullets to move the cartridge even further into the Big Game arena and in addition specifically market their new ammunition in .308 for Elk, Moose, and Bear. Advantageous of the .308 vs the “new” 1200 and 1500 yard cartridges are less recoil, longer barrel life, enhanced operator accuracy, shorter barrels, ammunition availability. If you do not shoot over 500 yards this is the rifle for you; if you shoot over 600 yards to 1500 yards (or think you do anyway) this is NOT the rifle for you. Let’s try a little honesty today Alex! How many Moose and Elk are shot over 350 yards? Deer? Sheep, Goats? I have hunted all over the world and the fact is if you want to shoot game at 1000 yards you typically need to BACK UP. Move further away. Nuff said.

AMMUNITION AVAILABILITY: This requirement should be high on your list for your firearms today.. cause there is no ammo out there right now! Covid hysteria, riot balogna, defund the police hoopla, Biden/Harris. The .308 however is available in every country in the world as 7.62 or .308 (and yes this shoots 7.62), every state, city, county.. and every third house on your street. Every outfitter in the world has 1/2 full boxes lying around from clients whom did not want the hassle of flying home with it. Every manufacture makes and markets it, and every distributor carries it. Even in today’s “no ammo” environment it is still at your local store. Ready for pick up!

RIFLE: Matt Bettersworth at Hill Country Rifles envisioned and had this custom blueprinted hand built rifle completed. The minute we became aware of what he had done we snagged it and ordered more custom units. Matt (co-owner of HCR) had Surgeon Rifles supply the bottom metal, used a Defiance Deviant action (fluted), threaded barrel is suppressor ready 5/8 x 24. Benchmark barrel, 20 inch, fluted with recessed target crown. Short, sweet, and to the point! Benchmark makes the best barrels in the world today re: accuracy. This rifle’s test target confirms it shoots 1/3 of an inch at 100 yards with FACTORY AMMUNITION. Shoots one inch groups at 300 yards. With FACTORY AMMUNITION! Rifle is set up with detachable box magazines from Accuracy International and are readily available everywhere.

OPTICS: Matt build this with common sense and intelligentsia. Swarovski Z6 Illuminated 1.7-10×42 with ballistic turret. We just lost Alex cause he has to have a 5-25 x 56 scope on his rifles to shoot 500 yards. Not only “not” but dumb. Again Hatchcock shot a PAVN General through the heart at 700 yards with a .308 decades ago using a straight 10x scope! This scope allows the end user to utilize the optic from 10 feet to 800 yards. That said the custom Swarovski Ballistic Turret is tuned and set to provide a precise dial up to 575 yards. Again; target at 400 yards? Turn the turret to “4”. target at 250 yards? Turn the dial to “2.5”.

AMMUNITION, TEN BOXES: 1))) Four boxes of premier Federal Premium .308 Sierra Gameking 165 grain ammunition. This ammunition was developed specifically for “BIG GAME MEDIUM TO LARGE ANIMALS: DEER, BEAR, ELK, AND MORE”. That is a quote from the box itself and Federal’s own website. Matt had this rifle with this ammo with this scope tuned blueprinted and calibrated to shoot spot on with the Swarovski Ballistic Turret. That said you can shoot any ammunition you wish through this rifle and order another Ballistic Turret direct from Swarovski for under $200. 2))) Six boxes of  180 grain Federal POWER SHOK JSP Jacketed Soft Point. Also for Elk, Moose, Bear.

ACCESSORIES/ADDS: As stated we snatched this from Matt and HCR the moment we knew of it’s existence.. then made it better. Those of you whom know us know we would put a compensator on a .22 short AND have it ported if we could! We are all about extinguishing recoil which enables us to maintain a clear sight picture and expend follow up rounds as needed. Although this .308 has minimal recoil and Matt felt recoil was low as is we added an APA CHODE muzzle brake which has a timing nut. You do not need a smith to install; takes seconds to screw on, align, and or screw off and put a suppressor on. APA originally developed this brake for competition shooters whom had extra long 28 or 30 inch barrels and wanted to eliminate recoil but not add another 3 inches to their barrels; we do not want to add 3 inches to this barrel either but again wish to further mitigate recoil. Voila! Sides that it looks badass! Then we added the BT Industries Atlas duofold bipod on a quick release mount. Underbelly has a Seekins Precision picatinny rail for said pod.

EBERLESTOCK PACK: No way you carry your rifle slung.. right? Course not. You always carry your rifle in an Eberlestock pack everywhere you go. Out for a day hunt only? I stuff the pack with a pillow and nigh to always shoot supported off the pack. The more solid your rest is the more accurate you will be; shooting off an Eberlestock gives you a very solid rest. In addition fatigue is cut threefold as you do not lug your rifle around; you walk normally with your rifle high centered on your back..pack! Included is a matching Loden Green Eberlestock Gunrunner II daypack/scabbard. “The H2 Gunrunner is a minimalist, lightweight rifle pack with patented Backscabbard.  It is designed for hands-free hunting and quick access to your rifle, and has just the right amount of stowage for a day’s outing. The top compartment is a good size for range finders, calls, etc., and the main compartment is sized for a day-outings worth of food and clothing. It has an internal sleeve sized for hydration bladders.

COST/BUILD: Your cost for the rifle scoped tuned and blueprinted direct from HCR if you order one from Matt is in the pictures. $9,830 no ammo no pod no brake. The rifle tag in the pictures is from Hill Country Rifles, not us. The tuned ammo was supplied direct from HCR and has their sticker on it. $35 per box x 4 = $140. Six boxes 180 grain is $25 per box = $150. APA brake is $125. Atlas BT47-LW17 PSR Atlas Bipod: Tall with ADM 170-S Lever 9quick release mount) $350 shipped on their site. Eberlestock $212 shipped off their website. Total to order one, put 1/2 down, and wait six months would run you $10,807. Az pays tax visa mc discover AMEX add 3.5%
