ACCURACY INTERNATIONAL TACTICAL SNIPER “AT”: The Accuracy Tactical rifle was designed and is built as a sniper rifle to extirpate human beings. Period. As they are purpose built for that specific reason Accuracy International will no longer sell the AT tactical sniper to civilians. They are available from Accuracy International to certificated Law Enforcement only.
EMERGENCY NOTIFICATION: The AT rifle is sold by AI as a “stripped” or bare rifle. No rail for optics, no rails for accessories, nothing. A rifle and a bolt. All components needed to complete the rifle must be purchase separately and installed by the end user. This rifle is complete with every option and upgrade installed. See the end of this listing for the itemization of the components required (and installed) to make these “complete” rifles.
POLICE SNIPER UTILIZATION REPORT: The latest most comprehensive report on domestic LE sniper shootings is based on over 500 LE sniper (SWAT) shootings.
- The .308 Winchester was the most common caliber firearm used by snipers.
- Over 98% of recorded police sniper shootings took place at distances less than 200 yards.
- Night-vision equipment has played an extremely limited role, if any, in actual shootings to date.
SIXTEEN INCH HEAVY BARREL: Accuracy International Proof Research stainless steel heavy sniper barrel, 16.25 inches. The 16″ heavy barrel is the preferred Law Enforcement sniper length barrel; terminal velocity over 900 yards with a shorter OAL. Although the 20″ remains as a standard for the AT in .308 Winchester the 24″ is considered obsolete. This 16″ is a thick contour heavy steel which is preferred for the domestic sniper. The weight of the barrel is intentional as it adds stability to the platform resulting in increased accuracy while the increased mass allows for more heat distribution and faster cooling.
STEINER MILITARY 2.9-20 MSR-2: Military branded Steiner M7Xi illuminated 2.9-20X50 MSR-2 . These “Military” units are manufactured in Deutschland and are the finest scopes manufactured today for the tactical arena. The 2-20x is for mid-range shooting to 1100 meters; ideal for snipers using precision bolt guns. 34mm tube, patented DuoScale elevation adjustment with a second-rotation scale that’s hidden when inactive. Current availability for Government, LE, or Military contracts. This scope is new manufacture, passed a certificated box test, and if requested ships zeroed.
At it’s lowest magnification the clarity is stunning; at 10′ you have the clarity and sight picture enabling the end user to take the apricot shot.. yet dial to 20x for your 1000 yard silhouettes. Having an optic with the ability to take the shot from as near as 10′ yet reach beyond 800 yards is nothing short of spectacular.
MSR-2 RETICLE: The optic reticle has an “enemy combatant” graph or rangefinder. By putting the “enemy combatant” in the graph an instant range estimation can be realized. Graph can be utilized for any known objects size; ie, deer runs 36 ” tall (body), coyote 24 inches at the shoulder etc. Of course as a sniper you already know the standard door size, standard window dimensions and can use those for your range estimation. From Steiner military division; “used today by Special Forces around the globe – Steiner sets a new benchmark with the ultimate sniper scope. The 7x zoom gives the operator more flexibility and a higher resolution from close quarter to mid-range to extended range scenarios while the large field of view and the outstanding optical quality create a perfect overview of the surroundings at all times”.
TREMOR III SUCKS: The worst reticle for a hunter and or a domestic LE sniper is the Tremor III. The reticle is a great reticle for the military sniper with a spotter whom is directing the shooter. Strong learning curve to use the reticle properly; designed for long distance shooting. Supposedly when you see your “miss” impact you move your crosshair for your second shot which will be “dead on”, which is bullcrap. Chances of spotting your miss are low to start with and your false sense of confidence with the Tremor III leads to continued failure. Any ethical hunter would not use a “miss” formula nor would an LE sniper. In addition the massive “Christmas tree” reticle may occlude your target.
SPUHR MOUNT: The finest mounts in the world, Spuhr, manufactured Loddekoping, South of Sweden. 34mm with an integral anti-cant device (bubble level). These LE sniper rifles also include a Snipers Hide anti-cant on the 34mm scope tube.
SPUHR MOUNT MOA NOTE: The picatinny rail on the AT rifle is a 20 MOA rail; the Spuhr mount is “0” MOA because the rail is already 20 MOA.
CALIBER .308 WINCHESTER: The .308 Winchester has been the premier LE, Government, and military sniper round for a couple decades and ain’t going anywhere. Ammunition availability is literally everywhere in the entire world. Every NATO country uses the 7.62 and/or .308 Winchester. Every police department. Homeland Security, Capital Police, BATFE, Border Patrol BORTAC, US Army, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard. Russia is using the .308 Winchester in sniper rifles in Syria. Seriously.
SPIGOT ATLAS BIPOD: The AT rifle has a receiver insert (hole) at the end of the chassis. By using a “spigot” the bipod is extended beyond the chassis system allowing for a more stable platform. The spigot and bipod were mated and installed and are part of the itemization below.
ATLAS DUOFOLD BIPOD: BT65 Gen. 2 CAL Atlas Bipod. Legs are duofold and will fold flush parallel to the stock or “out”. Note the legs can be folded in with the white light mounted. These bipods are in current use with SOCOM and PRS shooters today.
MAGAZINES: Ships with two 10 round Accuracy International flush fit magazines. The magazines are staggered magazines and actually hold 11 rounds; with “plus one” your AI AT can hold 12 rounds “flush”.
STREAMLIGHT LE SNIPER WHITE LIGHT: 490 meter beam. That is 536 yards. Five (5) football fields. Snipe away. Illuminate dark areas during tactical missions. Waterproof housing, virtually unbreakable for use in harsh environments and conditions. The Streamlight TLR-1 HPL High Lumen Gun Light has a thumbscrew and is easily removable for use as a hand held light.
FOLDING STOCK FDE: This 16″ Law Enforcement AT rifle has a folding stock and is 27″ in length with the stock folded. Twenty seven inches total length with the stock folded. Typically a fixed stock is preferred; with the 16″ barrel on this Pro Sniper the folding stock gets the nod. In addition the folding stock allows for instant bolt removal vs the fixed stock.
