Description

GUNWERKS SKUHL GUNWERKS .338 RUM GUNWERKS COMPLETE CUSTOM WITH UPGRADED LEUPOLD ILLUMINATED OPTICS, BALLISTIC TURRET, BT ATLAS BIPOD, CASED AMMUNITION, DISTRESSED FINISH, CUSTOM ENGRAVED..

GUNWERKS STATEMENT:  “The ClymR stock’s negative comb reduces felt recoil while allowing for higher recoil pad positioning. This positions the recoil pad more inline with the barrel, thus reducing muzzle rise. The result is a more forgiving shot with heavy recoiling rounds and quicker follow-ups * The SKUHL grip is designed to fit nearly any hand from large to small and is finely tuned for both firm control in tense situations with large rounds and finesse when long range, precision shots are in order. * The SKUHL stock features the same advanced carbon fiber structure with CNC machined bedding block, and a layer of flax fiber added into the composite layup. The painstaking process yields a beautiful blend with the performance of carbon, but the look and feel of a traditional wood stock. There’s simply nothing like it. * Carefully selected Leupold optic enables shots from close to extended distances. With laser etched ballistic turrets and matched ammunition, the traditional close quarters big bore rifle becomes a 900 yard + capable precision instrument (in .338 RUM) * The Gunwerks radial brake provides significant recoil reduction. The brake, paired with optimal stock geometry and healthy recoil pad make the SKUHL much more enjoyable to shoot. A rifle that gets more practice, is almost always employed better when it counts * A first for Gunwerks, we’ve engraved buffalo and bear skull motif as an homage to the game it’s made to pursue. The action body, barrel shank, muzzle and bolt shroud all bear these designs * A unique battle-worn Tungsten Cerakote finish rounds out the design. The stainless steel composition and baked ceramic finish render this tool and work of art practically impervious to the elements * DANGEROUSLY ACCURATE * Note this rifle stock will scratch the same as a wood stock. It is not scratch proof and will, with time, add more character to the rifle. Like during your first visit to the range when you stick it in a a vertical rifle holder..

ROCKEGROUP STATEMENT: We love these rifles. Period. They are freaking spectacular. Chock full o’ awesomeness. This rifle feels perfect with awesome ergonomics. Twenty inch barrel and shoots 900+ yards all day long in this .338 RUM combo. Ballistic Turret means you range to target and turn the turret to that range. Brown Bear Monster/Moose/Elk/Cape Buffalo/ Wolf/ Muley/ Mastodon whatever at 425 yards? Turn the turret to 4.25. Target at 600 yards turn the turret to “6”. Completely tuned, zeroed and set up by Gunwerks with the included Gunwerks ammunition and Ballistic Turret. Note the Gunwerks upgrade for the Barnes LRX 250 grain cartridges with a ballistic turret is a $1375 add!

CALIBER .338 RUM: The .338 RUM is a true long distance cartridge and allows for precision 1000 yards shooting (with this rifle). That said I cannot call wind reliably and the longest I can shoot at large game for a one shot kill is about 700 yards.. on a calm morning with no wind. Hence the .338 RUM. Less recoil, insanely accurate, long distance capability, long distance lethality, numerous bullet loads available from white tailed deer to Brown Bear, Elephant, Musk Ox, Cape Buffalo, Lion.. all of it.

BORDEN ON THE .338 RUM: “Close analysis of the .338 Lapua vs .338 RUM shows the RUM delivers equal velocities with less powder and shorter barrel length for 210 Grain to 270 Grain bullets. The Lapua gets the nod with 300 Grain bullets at the cost of longer barrel length and more powder”.

LEUPOLD MARK 5HD OPTICS: Leupold raised the bar when they came out with their MARK 4 series for military and LE snipers. Nightforce and others chased them for eons with a modicum of success. The relatively new MARK 5HD series destroys all comers for one reason.. weight. Swarovski, Kahles, Nightforce, Steiner in the 3-18 range all are pretty much same same regarding optic quality. One gets a shade lead here, another there, but not a noticeable deal breaker. Kahles are heavy heavy scopes and can be used as clubs if not mounted, Swaros are longer. Nightforce are both heavy and long. The Leupold in the MARK 5HD is a 35mm short, squat, uber lightweight dream at 24 ounces. Rockegroup now orders nigh to all of it’s builds using this optic. “Pick up a Mark 5HD™ 3.6-18x44mm and you’ll feel the difference. It’s up to 20 ounces lighter than other riflescopes in its class, giving you an advantage in the field or at the range. The versatile 3.6-18x magnification range helps you engage close targets, while also giving you the flexibility to reach out to long distances. With three revolutions of elevation adjustment and multiple reticle options, this scope will max out the performance of the latest long-range rifles and ammunition, guaranteed”.

AMMUNITION: Five boxes (100 rounds) Gunwerks hand loaded 250 Grain Barnes LRX. The Barnes Long-Range X Bullet (LRX) design increases Ballistic Coefficient values by increasing ogive and boat tail lengths to improve the bullets’ long-range ballistic performance. For the hunter who is confident in long-range hunting, the LRX will fill the niche of this new hunting craze. LRX bullets are manufactured with the proven 100-percent copper, lead-free bodies. The bullet’s polymer tip initiates expansion, causing the nose cavity to open instantly on contact doubling the bullet’s original diameter while creating four cutting petals that wreak extensive internal damage. Exceptional performance means a clean quick kill.

DUOFOLD BIPOD: BT10-LW17 V8 Atlas Bipod with quick release ADM-170-S lever. This is a perfect match to this rifle; folds forward or back, full extension with cant/swivel, lockable.

COST/BUILD: If you can get the Gunwerks rifle builder on their website to allow you to build a .338 RUM as described it is $14,959 no hard case, no ammo. Rifle and scope only. See the itemization in the pictures. Once you get to check out you can add the hard case for $350, Atlas duofold BT Bipod with quick release $290 (upgrade from Gunwerks smaller version). Ammunition 5 boxes premier Gunwerks $235 per box = $1175. Total if you can order one and get in mebbee 5 months is $16,774. Then add GB fees.. ours ships tomorrow. Az pays tax visa mc discover AMEX add 3.5%
