Description

GUNWERKS VERDICT .338 RUM CUSTOM GUNWERKS BUILD GUNWERKS CUSTOM AMMO, GUNWERKS REVIC TRIPOD, BT BIPOD, GUNWERKS HARD CASE, ANTI CANT++

FIREARM IS ZEROED AND TUNED AND HAD THE LRP LONG RANGE PACKAGE COMPLETED ALL BY GUNWERKS. PICK UP, LOAD UP, AND SHOOT! Ok confirm zero first..

2000 YARDS OUT OF THE BOX: Rifle has been tuned by Gunwerks to shoot over 2000 yards with the Gunwerks included installed certificated custom BT turret. That does not mean “hunt” at 2000 yards.. good to go hunting to 1000 yards, with a lot of practice and learning to call wind 1500 yards, with a spotter at a silhouette 2000 yards, anti-personnel/equipment (ok shoot a car) 2500 yards. Hit a barn at 3000 I guess. The turret is numbered to 1500 yards on the first turret revolution; target at 850 yards, turn the turret to “8.5”. Target at 1200 yards, turn the turret to “12”. The second revolution of the turret takes you past 2000 yards.

WHY .338 RUM: Because we can use a 22″ barrel and hit at 1500 yards. The .338 Lapua needs a 26″ barrel while the RUM ballistics/statistics can match the Lapua. Shorter barrel = ease of operation, better ergonomics, simple to stick in an Eberlestock rifle pack.

Copied from JDC at Northwest Magnum: “In our opinions, based on firing plenty of rounds in favorable conditions from several rifles in both chamberings, we believe that the 338 Remington Ultra Magnum is considerably more accurate and more consistent than the 338 Lapua. Further, we believe that the military chose the wrong cartridge for its long-range work. One of our mentors truly believes that part of it is the designation; “Lapua” sounds cooler and is easier to say than “Remington Ultra Magnum.” At least one bullet manufacturer has stated that the 338 RUM is so accurate, they are now using it to test the quality of their own 338 bullets. Now that’s something”.

In addition Gunwerks will not build a .338 Lapua anyhoo..

GUNWERKS VERDICT: The Verdict is known as “The King of Configuration”. The stock is the most adjustable in the line with buttpad cant, buttpad elevation, adjustable comb height, NV rail ability, embedded sling receptacles, picatinny rail(s), swiss-arca rail(s) ad infinitum. This Verdict rifle with it’s 22″ barrel is the epitomy of pure awesomeness.

WEIGHT BITCHING: This rifle weighs with scope 11 1/2 lbs.. and hits at 2000 yards. I just used mine at 18x to smack a bison silhouette at 1444 yards, 1st round impact.  Gunwerks BR4 rangefinder, no wind, dialed to 1450, held center, smackdown. You cannot do that with an 8lb rifle. If you want a 6lb rifle that caps at 250 yards call Rifles, Inc. Here’s some info for Alex..

  • The overall weight of an unloaded M24 military sniper rifle without the scope is 12 lbs. Scoped and loaded, the M24 weighs 15 lbs. Grunts hump them 20 clicks a day no problem. Caliber is 7.62 NATO (.308 Winchester).
  • The sniper rifle in use as of 2022 is the M110A2 configuration and weighs in at 10.5 lbs no scope no nothing. With the scope and mag you are touching 13+ lbs. Same 7.62 and or .308 Winchester.

HUNTING RIFLE WEIGHT/USE: This configuration is for over 90% of hunters and hunting applications when you want a rifle that will take down ALL North American game and shoot over 1000 yards with minimal training. The elk hunter whom is using an ATV or vehicle to spot and then stalk a mile or two. It is for the moose hunter in B.C. whom runs around with his guide on a snowmobile, looks for fresh tracks, then sets up an ambush in a meadow. It is for the moose hunter in Alaska whom hunts from a rifle box or stand. Yes they do Alex. These outfitters know where the natural funnels are and set up stands and have recorded 100% shot opportunity year after year. How about Brown Bear in Alaska? You do not hike at all. Cruise around in a skiff, spot a bruiser, shoot from the boat or ground upwind and sneak down a bit. Nuff said..

.338 RUM RECOIL: In this configuration less than a .300 Win Mag. This rifle has a Gunwerks muzzle brake and the recoil reducing Verdict stock. As a side note Gunwerks makes a “Skuhl” rifle in .338 RUM which is off their Clymr stock. The Clymer stock is the smallest teeniest lightest stock Gunwerks makes. Roxie uses hers religiously and recoil is not an issue.. until about 15 rounds in. Then it is time to move on. This rifle has the largest stock Gunwerks makes, Verdict. You can crack a couple boxes of ammo at a time no problem.

OPTICS: Kahles premier K318i illuminated. No is not a 5-25 Alex. Sounds like I am making excuses for this configuration; in reality I am trying to educate and elucidate the uninformed and the misinformed which frankly is the majority out there! Ok so no no no 5-25. This is a hunting rifle. At 3.5x magnification your FOV field of view is large enough to shoot a bison at 25 yards. Alex does not get it yet.. duh it is right dere at 25 yards duh I can trow da football dat far. At a hard 5x you cannot pick out a SPOT on the bison to shoot! Are you seeing the shoulder, rump, what? At 3x you can see head to tail and put your crosshair where it belongs for a kill shot. With this scope at 3x a Cape Buffalo is in the FOV stem to stern at 17 yards. Huh.

25x MAGNIFICATION BAD BAD: At 25x bad things start to happen.. err have probably already happened! Parallax ie “mirage” is screwing your sight picture up. If you are a knowledgeable shooter you dial magnification down when this occurs. At 25x your sight picture (typically) on the animal will be bouncing meaning your reticle (crosshair) is moving all over the target meaning your confidence takes a crap meaning you jerk the trigger when you think the reticle will bounce where you want it meaning you wound an animal. Big no no. Again, an experienced shooter will dial down the magnification which will give the shooter a more “calming” and comprehensive sight picture which increases confidence which equals a more proficient shot. Hopefully. We do put 25x scopes on the .300 PRC for experienced shooters however.. different dynamic.

GUNWERKS REVIC TRIPOD: I do not like shooting sticks at all. Rather shoot off an upright pack. Tripods have been to big and unwieldly to carry- until now. This tripod mounts the rifle in seconds and is rock rock steady. Packable at 19″ long and 4 lbs! Extends to 66 inches long and includes all needed hardware.

ATLAS BIPOD: BT47-LW17 PSR Atlas Bipod Tall with ADM 170-S Lever. Quick release mount pops on/off the forward picatinny rail as desired. Folds forward and or backward depending on your current application.

GUNWERKS/BARNES AMMUNITION: The Barnes Long-Range X Bullet (LRX) line is designed after the best-selling Tipped Triple-Shock X Bullet. The LRX bullet design increases Ballistic Coefficient values by increasing ogive and boat tail lengths to improve the bullets’ long-range ballistic performance. For the hunter who is confident in long-range hunting, the LRX will terminate game at both short and long distance. Polymer tip initiates expansion, causing the nose cavity to open instantly on contact doubling the bullet’s original diameter while creating four cutting petals that wreak extensive internal damage. Exceptional performance means a clean, quick kill. 100% Gunwerks ammunition, 5 boxes = 100 rounds.

ULFHEDNAR: Includes the Ulfhednar 40 round ammunition carrier (holds 20 rounds of .338), CD “cookie dough” support pillow for range work; heavy canvas. Pocket size rear bag (black) for field use.

BORE TECH: Rockegroup custom orders have the cleaning rod “cut out” in the lid of the hard case. The premier Bore Tech Proof Positive cleaning rod is mounted in the lid of the hard case, color green for .338. Pic show red you get the correct green rod.

GUNWERKS HARD CASE: The Gunwerks hard case is not included in an order; it is $350 extra and has the apropos cut outs and configuration to hold the rifle and all accessories.

PACK/SLING: Includes a dual strap sling which allows you to carry the rifle the same as a pack.

COST/BUILD: Order from Gunwerks with 7 month wait time for $14,879 shipped screenshot is in the pictures. $14,879 with no ammo no hard case nothing. Hard case is $350, Revic tripod is $525 shipped, Atlas duofold tall bipod is $350. Gunwerks ammunition is $175 per box 5 boxes = $875. Ulfhednar CD pillow $82, rear bag (pocket size) $51, ammo carrier $137. Bore Tech Proof Positive rod $82. Total to build your own cracks $17331. Then add GB fees of $600 ish. AZ pays tax visa mc discover AMEX with proof of ID.
