$12,622.00

Description

HILL COUNTRY RIFLES .308 WINCHESTER COMPACT HUNTER EVERY OPTION EVERY UPGRADE SHOOTS 1/4″ AT 100 YARDS OR 1″ GROUPS AT 400 YARDS WITH SWAROVSKI ILLUMINATED SCOPE, BIPOD, APA CHOTE BRAKE, CASE PREMIER AMMO ++  Note this rifle is tuned and blueprinted with a Swarovski scope which has a custom ballistic turret for this exact rifle. Target at 425 yards? Turn the elevation knob to 4.25! Simple. No hold over.

1/4″ MOA EMERGENCY ALEX DECLARATION: OH MEIN GOTT THIS RIFLE SERIAL NUMBER HCRD0807 IS DOCUMENTED SHOOTING .271″ GROUPS AT 100 YARDS WHICH IS NEARLY 1/4″ AT 100 YARDS OK .271 OF AN INCH AT 100 YARDS OFF A SANDBAG! CERTIFICATED BY HILL COUNTRY RIFLES ON THE INVOICE AS ONE OF THE MOST ACCURATE RIFLES IN THE WORLD EVER BUILT!! YOU WILL GET A COPY OF THE INVOICE WHICH PROVES THIS RIFLES IS INSANE ACCURATE..

7 PRC SUCKS: Ok the 7 PRC is a fine cartridge vs the .308 if you are shooting over 600 yards (vs the .308). Keep in mind there is NO ammo available for the 7 PRC today except.. Hornady 7 PRC with match bullets and one ELD-X load. That’s it. The .308 shoots the same grain bullet as the 7 PRC but in a SHORT action while the 7 PRC is a LONG action meaning a longer bolt throw, heavier rifle, lesser ergonomics vs the .308. Keeping in minf this is a hunting rifle and you do not shoot over 500 yards hunting game why the 7PRC? That said if you are a hunter that is going to shoot over 5oo yards for whatever reason I would buy the 7 PRC.. well no, then I would buy the .300 PRC!

CALIBER .308 HUNTING: New hunting ammunition has punched the .308 further into arenas it has always occupied; all mid sized game along with Elk and Moose at reasonable distance. Manufacturers are now making ELD and VLD cartridges to enhance lethality at distance and bullets to move the cartridge even further into the Big Game arena and in addition specifically market their new ammunition in .308 for Elk, Moose, and Bear. Advantages of the .308 vs the “new” 1200 and 1500 yard cartridges are less (nigh to no) recoil, longer barrel life, enhanced operator accuracy, shorter barrels, ammunition availability. If you do not shoot over 500 yards this is the rifle for you; if you shoot over 600 yards to 1500 yards (or think you do anyway) this is NOT the rifle for you. Let’s try a little honesty today Alex! How many Moose and Elk are shot over 350 yards? Deer? Sheep, Goats? I have hunted all over the world and the fact is if you want to shoot game at 1000 yards you typically need to BACK UP.

AMMUNITION AVAILABILITY: Every country in the world has 7.62 NATO and/or .308 Winchester (and yes this shoots 7.62), every state, city, county.. and every third house on your street. Every outfitter in the world has 1/2 full boxes lying around from clients whom did not want the hassle of flying home with it. Every manufacture makes and markets it, and every distributor carries it. Even any “no ammo” environment it is still at your local store.

RIFLE: Matt Bettersworth at Hill Country Rifles envisioned and had one of these (not shown) custom blueprinted hand built rifles completed. The minute we became aware of what he had done we snagged it (for moi) and ordered more custom units (which these are). Matt (co-owner of HCR) had Surgeon Rifles supply the bottom metal, used a Defiance Deviant action (fluted), threaded barrel is suppressor ready 5/8 x 24. Benchmark barrel, 20 inch, fluted with recessed target crown. Short, sweet, and to the point! Benchmark makes the best barrels in the world today re: accuracy. This rifle’s test target confirms it shoots 1/3 of an inch at 100 yards with FACTORY AMMUNITION. Shoots one inch groups at 300 yards. With FACTORY AMMUNITION! Rifle is set up with detachable box magazines from Accuracy International and are readily available everywhere. Stock is exceptional; integral cheekpad with thumbrest. Bottom of the stock is flat for use when lying prone or sitting and shooting off your Eberlestock pack.

OPTICS: Matt build this with common sense and intelligentsia. Swarovski Z8i Illuminated 2-16×50 Illuminated with ballistic turret. We just lost Alex cause he has to have a 5-25 x 56 scope on his rifles to shoot 500 yards. Not only “not” but dumb. Again Hatchcock shot a PAVN General through the heart at 700 yards with a .308 decades ago using a straight 10x scope! This scope allows the end user to utilize the optic from 10 feet to over 800 yards. That said the custom Swarovski Ballistic Turret is tuned and set to provide a precise dial up to 775 yards. Again; target at 400 yards? Turn the turret to “4”. target at 250 yards? Turn the dial to “2.5”. Swarovski Z8i 2-16×50 P L 4A-I. Note this scope is $3,943 on the Swarovski website and $3888 shipped at Euro optics.

AMMUNITION BARNES TTSX: Includes one full unopened case, 200 rounds Barnes Bullets 21541 VOR-TX 308 Win 168 gr 2700 fps Tipped TSX Boat-Tail. This rifle has been tuned and has a Ballistic Turret aka PBR aka Personalized Ballistic Ring for the premier Barnes TTSX168 Grain ammunition. That means it is set up as a pick up, load up, dial to range, and shoot package with the Barnes TTSX 168 Grain cartridges. Barnes bullets have the reputation of offering quick, clean kills. Tipped Triple-Shock bullet delivers the same “three strikes you’re out” rule. Once as it strikes game, two as the bullet begins to open and a third impact when the cavity fully expands to deliver extra shock with maximum transferred energy. The added polymer tip creates a faster expansion rate as well as better long range ballistics. Note this rifle will shoot any .308 Winchester or 7.62. If you elect to use another grain/brand/type of ammunition you can double check the turret on the range and mark easily. If you are using a current manufacture higher end rangefinder it will automatically adjust your “shoot to” range once you input the info.

APA CHODE BRAKE:  We are all about extinguishing recoil which enables us to maintain a clear sight picture and expend follow up rounds as needed. Although this .308 has minimal recoil and Matt felt recoil was low as is we added an APA CHODE muzzle brake which has a timing nut. You do not need a smith to install; takes seconds to screw on, align, and or screw off and put a suppressor on. American Precision Arms G2L5830N Gen 2 Little Bastard Self Timing Brake Black Nitride Stainless Steel with 5/8″-24 tpi Threads, 2.22″ OAL & 1″ Diameter for 30 Cal Rifle.

BT INDUSTRIES BIPOD: BT Industries Atlas duofold bipod. Underbelly has a Seekins Precision picatinny rail for said pod. Low profile with a quick release mount. Selected for SOCOM MK14 MOD 2. NSN 1005-01-601-000.  Height range is 4.5 to 9.4 inches, 30 degree pre-loaded pan and cant, 5 leg positions.

COST/BUILD: Invoice for the rifle only WITHOUT OPTICS is in the pictures. $8,589. That is with no ammo, no optics, no bipod, no brake. Rifle only in a Plano. You have to buy a Swarovski Z8i Illuminated 2-16×50 $3943 . Then ship the scope to Hill Country for mounting and zero. Then HCR needs to contact Swarovski and get a custom turret for this rifle (included on their invoice). Order up an APA CHODE brake and install $255, BT bipod duofold $275. Full 200 round case of premier Barnes TTSX ammunition runs $56 per box of 20 you get 10 boxes = $560. Total to order one, put 1/2 down, and wait 10 to 14 months would run you $13,622. Then add GB fees.. Az pays tax visa mc discover AMEX add 3.5% with proof of ID only.
