ROB ROBERTS MATCHED SERIAL NUMBERED SET BROWNING NEW MODEL A5 WICKED WING 12 GAUGE DUCK GOOSE TRAP HAMMERS ALL UPGRADES WITH RR COMPENSATION/PORTING PACKAGE
ROB ROBERTS/ ROCKEGROUP EXCLUSIVE WATERFOWL PACKAGE MATCHED SERIAL # SET: One and only matched serial numbered set in the world. It cannot be duplicated as Browning’s exclusive run is over and Rob Roberts will not upgrade your Wicked Wing set with the custom engraving motif regardless. The last 5 of the serial numbers match and read “YV116” from Browning. Rob Roberts custom shop “finished” the Wicked Wing” package.
MATCHED SERIAL NUMBERED SET: The serial numbers are identical… except we were able to get a centerline digit changed. One shotgun is 2 YV116 and the other is 3 YV116. Both chamber date prefix numbers are PT1844. Since one shotgun is “2” the stock is engraved with that numeral. The other serial number “3” is engraved on that A5. Getting matched serial numbers was no mean feat; the amount of favors called in, emails, texts, phone calls, routing…
PORTING/COMP PACKAGE: The new model A5 is about the lightest duck/goose gun out there and with the humpback design is the easiest to “swing” and get on target. The lighter shotgun does not have an increase in felt recoil as the custom EDM porting cuts felt recoil to the 16 gauge or even 20 gauge level. The 16 Morgenthal ports are in an eclipse pattern 8 per side; Morgenthal has shown these distinct ports do not affect accuracy nor shell velocity and may decrease felt recoil up to 33% depending on the type of shotshell.
ACTION TRIGGER JOB: The Wicked Wing from the factory is an awesome specimen with one glaring fault… the trigger. It just plain sucks. Awesome “swingability” but crap trigger pull. Problem solved! The Action Job with trigger work has resulted in an exemplary quick discharging trigger system with minimal creep.
FORCING CONE EXTENSION: Mandatory to receive the best results in patterns and recoil reduction. The area just in front of the chamber that directs the shot load into the bore is called the forcing cone. Forcing cone lengthened to 3 inches and and hand honed/polished. By lengthening the surface velocity is increased vs the sudden friction encountered with a short forcing cone. Felt recoil is reduced because the reduced friction allows the shot load to smoothly enter the shotgun bore. Pellet deformation is dramatically reduced because the shock of suddenly constricting the shot load is eliminated giving a more even and dense pattern.
SHOTGUN ACTION HONE: Catch all “Action Job”. Internals inspected fitted hand honed.
