WHY ORANGE: Moose, Elk, Bear, Deer, Sheep, Coyote. None can see orange. They see in shades of gray and some blue. WHY NO CARBON FIBER WRAP BARREL: This is a premier custom Lilja fluted barrel that shoots 1/3 of an inch at 100 yards. Watch Moneyball again. Yeah sure Carbon Fiber is ok but does your rifle shoot 2 inch groups at 600 yards? Think six football fields. In addition this custom barrel is fluted which adds rigidity, expands exterior mass for faster cooling, decreases weight, and looks awesome!
WEIGHT: Rifle weighs 8.8 pounds scoped ready to go. This is the perfect weight for a rifle capable of Brown Bear smackdown in a .33 caliber bullet. Want a 5lb scoped rifle? Rifles Inc will build you one. Good to 200 yards max with it’s pencil thin barrel and non illuminated scope. Recoil will be a bit harsh. Ok a lot harsh. SWAROVSKI BDC BALLISTIC DROP COMPENSATOR: This rifle has been tuned for this scope and the included ammunition. The turret is marked from 200 yards to 850 yards. Game at 450 yards turn the turret to 4.5. Moose at 675 yards turn the turret to 6.75.
AMMUNITION: One case premier Hornady Outfitter 225 Grain CX cartridges, #823394, 200 rounds. Copper alloy eXpanding CX™ bullet provides uniform, controlled expansion, deep penetration and +95% weight retention. Sealed primer and case mouth provide watertight protection. Nickel-plated cases are corrosion resistant and waterproofed to ensure protection from moisture.
ATLAS DUOFOLD BIPOD: BT Industries quick detach bipod, duofold. Fold forward or backward as conditions demand. Bipod is on a quick release mount and can be popped on/off in seconds.
INTERNAL FLOORPLATE MAGAZINE: This rifle has an aluminum hinged floorplate (internal magazine) that holds four rounds. We can argue all day about an external DBM detachable box magazine vs an internal magazine but all my personal rifles have hinged floorplate internal magazines. You will lose your external magazine. Or leave it in your coat. Or leave it at camp. Or at home. You will fail to seat the magazine and/or you will inadvertently eject it while hunting. It holds the same amount of rounds as my internal magazine but sticks out of the bottom of the rifle so it will snag and preclude you from sliding it on your pack while prone (which you are shooting off of). My magazine never gets lost or misplaced as it is a part of my rifle. Want me to go on?
