SMITH & WESSON MODEL 69 COMBAT MAGNUM MAGNAPORTED COMPENSATED .44 MAGNUM LIGHTWEIGHT CUSTOM BEAR BACK UP W/ KENAI CASED AMMUNITION ++

SMITH & WESSON MODEL 69 COMBAT MAGNUM: The lightest actually functional .44 Magnum manufactured today. Purpose-built gun designed for defense against furry and bipedal threats. A genuine concealed-carry revolver in this configuration with an OWB holster and loose outer garment or with the Kenai. The Model 69 Combat Magnum weighs in at a paltry 34 ounces with it’s 2.75″ barrel and measures under eight inches long; shorter and lighter than your 1911. Although the gun works for concealed carry that wasn’t what this pistol was designed for. In a sturdy outside-the-waistband holster and/or the included Kenai center chest holster it’s light enough and compact enough until you need it. For someone who wants a predator-thumper to wear while wading after fish in Alaska, or Moose or Elk hunting, this revolver is ideal.

* Note this revolver also shoots .44 Special loads. For those “in the know” the .44 Special is one heck of a critter gitter with even less recoil, less muzzle flash, and less concussive blast then the Magnum loads.

MAGNAPORT COMPENSATED CUSTOM: Custom Magnaporting on this revolver decreases felt recoil by as much as 33% and decreases muzzle flip. This allows the end user to be less skittish with a .44 Magnum and also allows the end user to put more rounds on target in a faster, more efficient, and more accurate manner. Note the compensation ports can only be done by removing the 2.75″ barrel from the firearm which means complete disassembly. Action tune completed while disassembled. Pistol has a chamfered cylinder and is considered “snag free” with a smoothed/blended frame. Matte stainless steel finish. The trigger pull comes out at 3.1 pounds in single-action mode and 10 pounds in double action. The single-action pull is probably a bit too light and will go boom with minimal effort. Keep in mind you are not actually supposed to use this in SA mode under duress which means you should never use this in SA mode even at the range. Your job with this weapon is to roll through as many rounds as possible as fast as is manageable (for you). Cocking the pistol wastes time in an emergency scenario and is a horrific habit. If you are only going to use this at the range and never in harms way have at it I guess but there are heavier pistols with longer barrels designed for that type of shooting.

BLACK HOGUE SMITH & WESSON CUSTOM GRIPS: These black grips are the same that Smith & Wesson puts on their custom shop .460 revolvers and .500 S&W revolvers. Large recoil absorbing grips in black.

SMITH & WESSON .460 MAGNUM / .500 MAGNUM ARE JOKES: Serious jokes. Marketed as “Emergency Bear Back Up” pistols they ain’t. Start with they weigh six pounds (6lbs). I have hunted and fished Alaska several times and humping miles a day in Moose terrain with a 6lb sidearm is not happening. Shooting the .460 and/or .500 is truly where the joke smacks the uninformed. You may fire it once; oh wait, your manly man buddies are watching so close your eyes and jack off a couple more rounds. You did not hit squat at 10 yards and you will never shoot it again. But hey.. it sure looks cool!

KENAI CENTER CHEST HOLSTER: Custom fitted Kenai center chest rig holds this revolver firmly and locks in place with an audible “click”. More comfortable than hip carry, more accessible, much faster. It’s like Whataburger. Right there. 100%. These rigs can be worn outside or under you outer garments. Have developed a following as driving rigs and winter condition rigs. Custom order, custom built, fitted. Adjustable strap ensemble included (not shown in pictures).

NANUK HARD CASE: Nanuk out of Canada manufactures hard cases for firearms along with cases for other odd occupations. These are premier adapted “First Aid” Nanuk cases, bright red, white cross. I carry my firearms when flying in Nanuk First Aid cases as they are pretty hard for baggage handlers or the TSA to lose with their glowing bright red color, are easy to spot when they allow you to retrieve them, and kinda low on the “let’s steal something” list being as they are simply “first aid” kits. These have three layers of loose foam which can be completely removed or installed in layers dependent on your firearm size and or if in a holster.

AMMUNITION #1: Full 250 round brick of JSP Jacketed Soft Point ammunition. Fiocchi Defense Dynamics 240 Grain. Completely acceptable for your outdoor back up needs till you are just shy of Grizzly/Brown bear. This would be your range practice ammunition.

AMMUNITION #2: Grizzly .44 Magnum 300 Grain WFNGC Hard Cast lead. Wide Flat Nosed Gas Check bullets. Extreme penetration. This is your Brown Bear protection ammunition. Three boxes 60 rounds.

AMMUNITION #3: Humanoid Extirpation ammunition. This is .44 Special (not Magnum) JHP Jacketed Hollow Point manufactured by Buffalo Bore. Great for medium sized game.. like humanoids. Three boxes = 60 rounds.

AMMUNITION #4: More Buffalo Bore to insure all your potential needs are covered. Six boxes of .44 Magnum Hard Cast deep penetration ammunition; 4 boxes “Lower recoil” and two boxes of “Heavy” .44 Magnum. Total six boxes of 20 rounds = 120 rounds.

COST/BUILD: A new Model 69 is running $950 shipped with the small black cheese whiz grips. Ship to and from Magnaport and wait a year for their compensated Magnaporting and a reliability enhancement/action job $919 with shipping both ways. Call Kenai for a custom fitted holster $202. Call Nanuk and get a First Aid kit $69 (no foam, bare). Hogue .500 S&W black grips installed $71. Five 50 round boxes Defense Dynamics ammunition is $60 per box x 5 = $300. Grizzly is $50 per box of 20 = $150. Buffalo bore total of 9 boxes $55 per box of 20 = $495. Total to “build” your own cracks $3156. Az pays tax visa mc discover AMEX add 3.5%
